Figured I'd change it up and go to the mildest plate.  Shaved efficient enough.  Super smooth but not any smoother to me than the .7.  For an everyday shaver this would probably be perfect.

Sunday 12/22 shave:



AD 1.1 plate w/ Lab Blues blade
Omega 10051 Boar
Dr. Jon's Cedar & Rose Soap
PAA Cube 2.0 pre shave soap

Yesterday tried the.3 and today was the 1.1.  Definitely not as smooth as .3 or .7.  Shaved with more care than either of the smaller gap plates.  Wasn't exactly rough, but I can see how people would prefer the.7 as the Goldilocks plate at least in this bunch.  Would be interesting to try the .9 and 1.3 but the 4 plates in this so far with the three I tried do give a pretty good variety.  Tomorrow I'll be trying the 1.5 plate.  So far my favorite shave was the .7 plate.

Finally tried the 1.5 and it didn't disappoint.  Very efficient and no less smooth than the 1.1.  The end result is BBS with little effort.  My kind of razor.  I'll be trying the .7 and 1.1 again to make sure it wasn't a fluke.

12/25 Christmas Day Shave:



AD 1.1 plate

Grooming Dept. Pomp soap
Duke Cannon Ice Cold balm

Tried the 1.1 plate for a second go round.  Seemed better than the first time and maybe it was from the slicker Pomp soap.  No cuts irritation or anything, just smooth and efficient.  DFS+ on this.  Will try the .3 maybe as a late night shave tonight, and.7 tomorrow and one last 1.5 shave.  Merry Christmas everyone!!!

The 1.1 plate is my go to for now, I tried the 1.3, I will revisit it at some point. I am shaving once every 2-3 days.

Trying to maximize my time with this awesome Atelier Durdan No.7 razor set as it's time is drawing near to send it on to the next gent.  Having said that, I did a second shave in the evening with the .3 plate and in this context it does great since there is very little stubble to have to cut.  1 1/2 pass with BBS results.  Tomorrow the .7 may be the last shave.  Looking forward to it but also sad knowing it's going to be shipped out tomorrow or Friday at the latest.  

Once I got on the list with Gus, I knew I wanted the No.7 and tried to get in on the Black Friday sale at AD, and tried to place the order on 11/30.  I missed the deadline as it expired midnight 11/30 France local time not US EDT which I somehow assumed.  Augustin gave me a belated code to work and I made the purchase of a No.7 1.5 in brass.  Also ordered a brass Vestige ++ plate to go along with my SS +++ plate.  Thinking I was just going to only like the 1.5 plate, I was going to cancel on the passaround but I was next in cue as @DaveinWV was finishing up his time with it.  I didn't want to cancel short notice so I stuck to it.  Glad I did as I have honestly enjoyed every plate not just the 1.5 like I expected.  

Sorry for such a long post, but I'm grateful I was able to be added on at the last minute and I had just discovered the No.7 razor a week and a half or 2 weeks before I actually had it in my hands.  Parting will be such sweet sorrow.
