I found the No 7 to favor a neutral (30 degree) angle. To me it is much smoother than Lupo, much more efficient than Gamechanger, and less blade feel than the Salient.

Thanks ewk, that comparison helps a lot with regards to shave characteristics. I adore my Lupo 95SB and find it very smooth with just enough blade feel. I actually prefer it to my wr1 .74 for some reason. The wr2 1.25 was right up my alley but sold off so I can grab maybe the same in Ti flavor. So efficient but smooth, that 1.25 was. I have a BB also but unfortunately the love has never materialized for me. Something about the skin feel, large contact area of the head, or perhaps a combination of those. Perhaps smaller gaps just don't work for me. The more I read, it seems possible the N.7 and I could have good rapport, depending on plate selection.

Also, I was only up to post #50 or so previously but after working up to +#200, my questions concerning the finishes became clear. If I decide to pull the trigger, my choice will likely be SS head/premium polish paired with N.7 round handle in basic polish Ti.

One last question. At the risk of appearing dumb, how do I quote a post? I figured it out in times past but I've been so lax at posting, I'm now at a loss.

Just my opinion, but the No7 head is so thin and light, I wouldn't see the point of getting it in Ti. It is already a featherweight in stainless.

Ok, yes the + in the circle icon. It's coming back to me now, thanks.

Perhaps I was unclear. I would choose the stainless N.7 head and the Ti N.7 handle. My Lupo head is 26g and paired with Ti Windrose handle, it hits my sweet spot around 70ish grams. I use heavier razors also like the Apex SS, Karve CB, etc., but as a general rule, seem to enjoy my razors a wee bit lighter.

It's sharp and it cuts. I like it...

As for Atelier Durdan and the No.7, I really have no business jones'n over this razor. My name is due to come up on the Wolfman list again in perhaps a month but...

Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.

Being a pushover for a lightweight, thin head I can't help but be intrigued by the N.7. The flat-ish head puts me in mind of my Lupos, Gamechanger and Salient. Is the shaving angle steep, neutral or more toward the shallow end of the pool?
I'm not in the pass around (lazy poster) but do have an additional question:

Do you know the finish on this razor as shown in all these photos? Maybe I missed that info. I notice very faint horizontal machining marks(?) across the top of the cap but nothing outrageous. Is this the basic polished?

cheers

Hello amigo. Good to see you here as well. Yes, I’m no longer a part of the B&B fraternity. But, that’s gone and in the past. This is a good forum with great people from top to bottom. I landed in a good spot and have no ill will to anyone over at the B&B. I had & have some good friends & acquaintances there and I don’t have a negative thing to say about my time there. It was just time to move on.

You received some pretty good answers to your question and I would pretty much be in tow with what has been said so far. This sample is the basic polish finish in SS with a good range of base plates for one to try & dial in to attain their preferred setting or shave razor characteristic that one would assimilate to a favorite or “Goldilocks” set up. I’ve not tried the razor with the 3 lower base plate settings but, I found the 1.1 & 1.5 to be very, very good in being both highly efficient in whisker removal while showing very good manners in terms of smooth action & relative comfort at those moderate to high gap options. Truthfully, I would like to get a few more shaves in with those specific plates, more so with the 1.5 as I felt with some more time with it on my part, the shave could have been potentiall improved on my part.

Regardless, it is an excellent razor that is crafted expertly well. If you can, I highly recommend signing up for the pass around. Worth the sampling if you ask me. Great shaves to you my friend….

Alien technology it seems has been spotted in the Northeast...

Person who recived it has been found roaming around his house muttering incoherently "RAD killer", "RAD killer"... Authorities are investigating into it.

Un-named sources say that this person's current behavior seems to get triggered everytime he runs his hand over his face.
