Oh my, that is very disappointing to see.  Please do keep us updated on how this is handled, including who pays to ship it back to France.

Requesting I ship it back at my expense. It’s cruddy but I’ll probably just do it and be done with it. Lesson learned. Got too big to do right by a day one customer I suppose.

Shipped back at your expense? If you paid for polished and got that? That does not make sense to me.

I know sometimes buyers expect too much from vendors, but this is not one of those times. Sigh.

Are you kidding me?  They screw up because of poor Quality Control and they want you to pay to send it back.  Absolutely horrific response from them.  This is a company i will not deal with in the future. I will not be participating in this pass around.  This is totally unsatisfactory.  If for some reason AD comes to his senses and pays for the shipping and apologizes to you, let us know.

I am still fuming about your shabby treatment.  This would never happen with Lambda Razors.  NEVER.  I am not sure this would happen with other reputable companies.

That is very disappointing to hear.  And frankly, it surprises me that they will not cover the shipping charges since it was their mistake.

I'm going to wait a while and see if Atelier Durdan changes their mind about this, but if they do not reimburse you for the cost of return shipping I may as well drop out of this pass-around because I would not buy the razor even if I like it.  But I will wait a couple of weeks until it's closer to my turn in the hope that Atelier Durdan decide to correct their mistake.

I’m sorry to hear that my friend. That truly is something that I would have not expected from Augustin as he has proven to me through our dealings to be a gentleman and a man of his word. I hope Augustin truly reconsiders and does the right thing in your particular situation. It would go a long way in potentially solidifying his brand here in the States, abroad in Europe and across the globe.. I know that customer service is top priority in my book and I hope it is in his book of business as well.

Good luck amigo.

I would immediately contact my Bank or Card Company and file a dispute!! That is unacceptable on so many levels to make a customer pay for return shipping when they screwed the pooch on this one big time, especially at that price point...

I didn't see a note of the finish cornbread ordered.. Sir, Did you order either the basic polish or the premium polish?

The reason I ask it... My first La Faulx is bronze with the premium polish and the second La Faulx is stainless steel with the basic polish..... Your titanium set looks like it is the machine polish finish. I re-read all your posts after you received your razor and didn't notice if you specified which finish you ordered.

On another note, did you ever sell the Ares with the Wolfman WRA2 bronze razor stand? I've asked a couple times on your sales posts... and in PMs...

Before jumping the gun, perhaps consider the possible language barrier and/or the business customs in the country in which an artisan operates. Perhaps Augustin‘s first thought was to get the razor back for inspection and to solve the matter of reimbursement (including postage) later. Innocent until proven guilty, no?

This situation has reminded me of a recent experience with Lambda razors that I read about on a different forum. The Razor head was damaged by Customs inspection and Lambda sent a complete new razor including the wooden box as a replacement and told the customer to keep the damaged one! This was as surprising to me as Atelier Durdan requiring their customer to pay for shipping to return a razor that should not have passed their own QC, it just surprised me in a very different way.

I just looked at the Atelier Durdan website and Lambda website and I can't find any written warranty information on either site.

As a side note, the Lambda customer sold the new unused undamaged razor and put the damaged head in a pass-around. Perhaps that customer is also here on this forum, I don't know.
