I have been a forum member for a while and am really tempted to join such pass arounds. I am in India and was wondering if I can get last spot in the pass around. Willing to pay for to and fro shipping. I would let the mods decide on this. I would understand if still there is reservation against this. Thought of letting it out in the open.

I just received the passaround razor. Will be using it tomorrow morning. I'll post some results later in the week after I have tried it a few times.

Hello
Im not in that passaround but I recieved the ++ OC today and wanted to let you know that it shaves beautiful. I have the standard baseplate and this ++OC and there is nothing more I would need. Paired with a Schick it was absolut smooth with more effiency. I will try it again with a Feather Pro and super Pro which (Super Pro) was my fav in the standard baseplate.
Vector and Cobra Classic are my fav AC Razors and both are more efficient but the Atelier Durdan is just a bit behind.

AD AC SE Passaround Review – Finest Quality Manufacture Aimed at Those With Extremely Sensitive Skin

The AD has proved quite the razor.  It well and truly is right at the apex of razor manufacturing, artfully crafted to a level of quality only one other manufacturer matches these days: think early Wolfman thru 2019, RAW and the masterful H&S P076 Series high polished – Rocnel is the only manufacturer of safety razors able to compete, even then only on their highest end offering.  The moment the razor is unwrapped, every facet of the beautifully high polished surface reveals its magnificence.  While French products are widely panned these days - unfairly, from experience in motorsports, bicycle racing and weaponry - can attest that, of the items the French choose to manufacture domestically, it is world class or not undertaken: safety razors can now be added to that list.  Thank you AD for having the pride in your workmanship and belief in society that there are still customers appreciating quality with a willingness to pay for a man’s lifetime of dedication to a craft.  Not everything in life bows to the market’s death cult of ruthless efficiency and price.  In short, this razor is priced fairly reflecting its materials and obvious labour input.  It would be impossible to imagine anybody criticizing the quality at any price.

The design is prototypically French, quirky and a little over the top yet maintaining an elegance rather than being gauche.  French design is not to my preference as am more minimalist regarding manufacturing design perspective but am willing to bet that if found 300 years from now, it will have aged gracefully versus something to personal leaning, which is of the age.  The titanium polishing is the best encountered from any manufacturer to date, so perfectly smooth it can be a bit slippy when lather covered but that is not to criticize it in any way as the handle work is a delightful departure from the more practical industrial knurling.  The head is deep, really deep and the blade exposure nonexistent, more on that later.

My face is narrow, terribly disfigured and angular, presenting significant challenges to shave especially when combined with extremely sensitive skin.  The shave qualities of this razor presented zero irritation, even shaving daily and with blades impossible to use in any other razor.  Hitherto have not been able to use any Kai blades and absolutely neither Feather Pro nor Super Pro.  The AD permitted using Feather Super Pros on a daily basis with zero irritation – that is how smooth it shaves.  By the same token, never really experienced a BBS shave by Vector Ti standards, although the shaves were at least as good as any other razor ever used – again these were daily shaves without ANY irritation – something impossible to undertake with any other razor ever encountered.  Part of the opportunity is that the protruding comb makes it difficult to shave nooks and crannies of faces particularly disfigured and angular while the lack of blade exposure makes it difficult to get perfectly BBS shaves even on open expanses of skin such as cheeks despite aggressively skin stretching.  Every razor angle was attempted to get closer shaves but the shaves remained consistently great yet imperfect.

In conclusion, the AD is worth every penny – hard stop.  Further, for those with serious skin issues even worse than mine, it may be the solution sought.  One would have to be restricted from touching anything sharper than a donut to experience irritation and it shaves right near the top of all razors ever encountered. For those with round faces and skin problems, your hero razor has arrived.

Thank you Atelier DURDAN and cornbread for introducing this fantastic piece of kit.

I ordered the baseplate directly on release day - Im from Germany so I think that I am one of the first who recieved it. I'm happy for him that he have so much orders but I hope that the waiting time will be reduced in the near future

Me too. I ordered a few days after he released them. I have the ++ OC, +OC and ++SB in Copper coming soon. Been following the order counter on his website and mine are getting close.

Finished my last shave today with the Le Faulx.  I shaved with it 4 times this week.  I typically shave 2-3 times per week instead of daily anymore (one of the benefits of working from home now).  I did some daily shaves with the Le Faulx though a couple times just to get a sense of how it shaves as a daily.  This would make a good daily shaver as the shave is very mild.  For a 2-3 day shave it will require more passes and touch-ups.

This is a beautifully machined and polished razor.  I've not seen titanium polished to such a shine before.  I would probably prefer it in stainless steel for the extra weight combined with the mild efficiency.  I would like to try the OC plate or one of the "+" plates at some point if that becomes a passaround option.

The razor will be off to Stickshift tomorrow.  Thank you Cornbread for arranging the passaround.  This is my first time participating in a passaround and I'm glad it was available as I may never have tried the AD if I hadn't spotted the passaround.

The razor arrived today, and it's a looker! I'll post my thoughts after I shave with it. Thanks to cornbread and Atelier DURDAN for the opportunity to try this razor!
