Scentsless Shaver
Oakland, ME
Arrived late morning, and I rushed down to the mailbox to retrieve it. All is well with the package and razor. It is impressive looking and I am anxious to give it a go tomorrow!

What a gorgeous razor! My sincere thanks to Atelier DURDAN and cornbread for making it possible for us to try out such a well-crafted instrument!

First shave done yesterday morning and it was pretty much as previous reviews stated: comfortable, smooth, and efficient. To use another word, it felt mild, but gave a close and comfortable shave. In short, I like it!

It has a larger head than say the Colonial The General V2 and maybe as big as the RR Hawk V3, both of which I had but no longer own. It shaved like the Hawk; that is, carefree and so easy, but as I said, it was a close shave. And longer lasting than the Hawk V3. In fact, I was quite impressed with how long the shave lasted and how short my stubble was this morning!

Today's shave was a comparison to my Vector. This post will be updated later, so check back to see the additional info later!

Another outstanding shave! I liked both and swapped sides as I went, so in the end I am clean shaven but with no good notes on how it happened! What I can say is that there was no, none, nil irritation! The Vector is more nimble, but the La Faulx pretty much held its own. Oh, and the La Faulx had a Feather Professional on shave 2 loaded, while the Vector had a Kai Captain Titan Mild on shave 4. Which leads me to think that the Vector would be more efficient with a Pro blade, but the La Faulx gave as good a shave as the Vector when the Vector had the Mild blade. Which is to say, COMFY. Which is a Big Plus in my opinion.

Fresh off USPS Truck:

Pretty particular regarding condition but can't really find fault as handed down by previous participants. Thank you Atelier DURDAN and cornbread for sponsoring and organizing.

Just one glance indicates where the money went; this is produced by somebody caring deeply about their life's work.

Shall shave tonight, drafting a first usage impression come the dawn.

DanLaw, based on your other posts, I predict the La Faulx will resonate with you. It did for me when I had it for a passaround week on an another forum, and we've had a similar experience of the Vector Ti. I ordered one based on my week with it. Looking forward to your report on the La Faulx ("The Scythe")!

I see some great reviews, can I get in on the pass around?  I’m in Pennsylvania.

Thanks!

The razor is off to the next passaround participant.

Things have been a little trying here, thus the lack of interim posts - apologies. However, commit to having a meaningful review up this weekend. Frankly, hastily scribed interim posts would be an insult; this razor deserves a detailed review worthy of the craftsmanship so obvious in its execution.

Hold tight and shall endeavour to detail the perspective of those with difficult faces and beards using the Atelier DURDAN.
