Before I get into shave let me set some context for my perceived efficiency in AC razors from my experience. 

Mild-paradigm se
Medium-colonial general v2
High medium- vector
Aggressive-asylum rx 

All of these are assuming a proline/feather.  They can all be bumped up one step of effeciency with a feather super blade. 

I would rate the Faulx as mild-medium. I’ll test it tonight with a super blade to see where it goes in the scale. Now the metrics. 

Handling- 66 grams and very grippy. The faceted knurling is as deep as I’ve ever seen on a razor. Extremely safe to hold and I imagine the non-polished version is even grippier. 



the shave-  blade loading was straight forward. Posts are on the cap which is not my preference but if you created a poll on the forum it would go 50/50 so no issue. The important thing is that Blade posts are utilized and the blade sits firm and parallel with the guard. 



Speaking of the guard. Probably my only gripe with the razor. In my opinion all that surface area creates unnecessary friction against my face. It didn’t a distracting amount of drag, but a more traditional, compact guard would reduce the friction I felt. very possible my lather was under-hydrated.  I’ll try a more hydrated lather tonight. 




That said, I got an extremely comfortable 3 pass shave. I usually do 2 pass shaves but this one was incredibly comfortable. Great efficiency for the comfort. Felt a lot like the paradigm with a step up in efficiency. No irritation, or cuts. I’m not sure I could cut myself unless I was trying. 12 hours later I’m still bbs in the face with small areas of micro stubble at the jaw line. That is incredible for me as I get a 5 o’clock shadow easily.

Shave 3 is in the books. I have now achieved a smooth shave from the proline, feather, and feather super. I love the deep knurling more every shave. Usually a high polish like this results in some handling issues, but not here. Razor is so well-designed it looks amazing on my display. Im hard-pressed to pass it along for looks alone, but it will be moved along tomorrow. 

This razor is special. Many modern-day, mass produced razors lack the finesse and intricacy possessed by the Faulx. This razor does not replace any other AC-type razor because it is completely unique in how it shaves. More effective than the paradigm SE, and more comfortable(and less efficient) than a vector. If you are looking for a comfortable AC razor for effective, comfortable daily shaves this is the one. Excellent stuff Atelier DURDAN   . Great to see artisans producing high-precision, thoughtfully designed razors.
