Day 2 - One thing I'm finding with a SE razor, super close shave around the nose in a single WTG pass.  Never able to do that with a DE so there's one entry in the Pros column.   My initial WTG passes so far have not been as close as I get with my DEs.  Actually there's quite a bit of stubble left after completing the first WTG shave.  I'm guessing more experience with this razor will take care of that.  With the addition of the other two passes I still ended up with a DFS, almost BBS but not quite.  This razor is also prone to giving me a few weepers after each shave and my skin is a bit irritated immediately after completing my shave.  The irritation goes away pretty quickly and I hope with more experience with this razor that will be completely eliminated.

I had a very promising first shave with the Asylum Injector yesterday. I typically use DE razors (the Yates 921-EH is my current favorite). The only other injector I've used is the Supply SE.

I loaded the Asylum with a Schick Proline and shaved my head first. It was pretty easy to find the right angle, and my head was BBS after two passes. Then I did three passes on my face. My face was mostly BBS with the exception of a couple spots on my neck. I ended up with a few weepers during the shave, so I didn't want to chase BBS and do too much clean-up until I felt more comfortable with the razor.

Overall, it was a nice shave. I found the razor to be smooth and comfortable as long as the blade was kept at a shallow angle. If I started to get steeper / ride the guard, it seemed like the blade feel went up and the comfort dropped a bit.

Same experience as far as until my 3rd pass against the grain I feel more stubble left than usual. Closeness doesn't last long either. 1 more try tomorrow with another blade/brand.....

I talked to Mike aka dtownvino and he had the same experience in his first use of the B20’s. He said the razor was not as efficient and wasn’t as smooth as when he used the Yellow’s . I have the B20’s so I’m going to try them on my next shave and see if there is a difference because I’m not experiencing any lack of efficiency or having any problems with nicks or irritation. So I’m wondering if the blades are what makes the razor not only more efficient/effective and smoother. Will be interesting to see if I have the same results when I use the B20’s as everyone seems to be having.

I didn't use the B20's Frank. Getting ready to shave with another blade for last try with the razor myself.

So after 2 shaves that were less than satisfying with the Rx Injector Razor using the Schick Krona Stainless blades I swapped out for another Schick Blade (I have the B20's but seldom care for them). Not sure which Schick it is but it's in the pic. I don't know if they are vintage or modern ones. I think it may be similar to the Yellow pack but it's a 15 cartridge instead of a 7 and I forget how I came by them. All that aside, I finally got a shave I was hoping for from this razor. I immediately felt like the blade was sharper on the 1st strokes and by the 2nd pass I could tell as I usually can that I was getting a good shave. It is a milder Injector Razor for sure and I still think the Type "O" would beat it out but with some effort and a sharp blade this Modern Injector has the goods........at least for this shave, to keep it around and enjoy it. So glad I could join the "cool kids" table finally  Big Grin Everyone have a great day !

The yellows deliver great shaves for me.  B20’s are tuggy, don’t know why, don’t care, I’ll try them in something else.

My brother is getting one today and I can’t wait for his assessment.  He’s the Portnoy of one shaves and passing judgement.  Funny for me but he’s pretty spot on.

I don't know if I'll ever use my Asylum enough to use the 20 blades from my B-20, but it seems like I might ought to trying some Chicks. Then I'll end up with ~40 blades that will last me a lifetime or until BST, which ever comes first. I'm actually hoping I'll come around to loving this, but I'm not there yet or even close.

PM me and I'll send you a couple of these blades to try so you aren't stuck with a full pack
