No human ever born can hold their hand steady enough to determine how straight it is or see that fine.I can't say that I've seen a double edge blade like that. However, I have a pack of Feather Artist Club Pro Supers that are exactly as described.
The beveled area leading to the cutting edge is rippled and looks simply uneven and unfinished. And the shaves are absolutely horrendous. (This is coming someone who loves Feather blades in general.)
So I'm not claiming to see the actual cutting edge, either. But what I can see with the naked eye leading up to the cutting edge is not normal. I can put an AC Pro and an AC Pro Super (from this pack) next to each other and see the difference.
Been meaning to get in touch with Jatai Feather to see what their response is, just haven't had a chance yet. My thought is that if a Japanese brand like Feather can somehow make a mistake like this, than anyone can, however rare it may be.

The Astra SP is my “comfort” blade. It isn’t very efficient for me, but it is very smooth. Unlike most other “smooth” blades though, it doesn’t tug at all (for me). I normally use the sharper Personna Red so I can do fewer passes and/or less touchup, but the Astra SP is a solid contender for taking the edge off a lazy-day shave.

In all likelihood you're seeing the coating on the blade edge. FWIW, I tried a buddy's AC razor once with four different AC blade types and none gave me a comfortable shave.
Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.” “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

I was really hoping to get a boost in efficiency with the Supers, but instead, it's all just skipping and tugging.
The combination of AC razor and blade seems to be much more difficult to match than with a DE. (Obviously, choices are much fewer, too…)
Back to the main topic — Astra is a decent blade, and they're easy to find at a great price (especially the platinums). Been a long time since I've tried a platinum, and I've never tried a stainless. Maybe it's time to revisit this brand…
