Yes, ARKO is definitely the best bang for the buck in shave soaps. It's a classic example of scale of production bringing the price down. Nothing used in it is very expensive either. It works great!

Some folks have a problem with the scent (I don't), but as Clayton wrote I find it to be quite drying. At the price it sells for the factory simply can't make it do everything. The money saved can buy the moisturizer that should be used anyway IMO.

I agree with you on the scent aspect...that's the exact scent I think of when I smell arko.

I know that TSE has expensive gear along with moderately priced hardware and software.  He does have a lot of shaving gear to last him a lifetime and more.

he also gives away a lot of product too!!
