I have several of the A&E, Goats Milk & Lanolin Sets and it is indeed a great base. Personally, with so many good bases available at the moment, it's difficult to rate one's performance above another. However, if scent is high on your list for a deal-breaker, then these soaps are definitely a top choice in my book. Others have good scents as well but are also balanced with some that aren't the greatest. The A&E ones are all very good, imo and the splashes with skin food just turn it up a notch.

I tried the SoCal Hipster last night and was amzed, great scent, slickness and post shave feel. I ordered some immediately. I dont undertand the membership fee though, What does it get you?

The website is jacked. So much conflicting info in the descriptions and 3 different brands with prices all over the map. The whole thing needs a redo. I'm still going to try that new goat milk base eventually though.

I've kept an eye on the A&E at Top of the Chain for a while but with so many soaps and new ones coming every day it seems I'm getting to the point where a break is in order. I've found for the last year or so I'll get a new soap, sniff it, try it, put it on the shelf and move on to the next one. Its like soap ADD. I've reached back and pulled out Hallows for today and yes I'll probably order another one. Big Grin

+1 Completely agree

AFAIK, the new goat milk based soap is made in-house, not by Oleo or any other artisan.
