I think you’ll really enjoy them

I enjoy the Novelist, La Cosa Nostra, Grecian horse, warrior of howling fjord, club baccara just to name a few. I’ve also heard good things about the new Summer Fig scent but haven’t tried them personally.

Can’t really go wrong with any scent tho if it sounds like your style.

I’ll have to pick a few out and give them a shot, Thanks!

You’re welcome, of course my impression comments were solely for the Goats milk soaps. While I enjoy the Vegan soap base I believe it’s made by another artisan and doesn’t perform as well for me but still very good.

I'm a little late to the party...prior to this I had never tried any A&E soaps.
I recently bought a tub of A&E Monte Carlo from one of the various BST's and even though I was disappointed to find out that it wasn't the tallow version (but the older vegan) it still lathered well and smelled pretty good. Scent strength on the one I had was about 5/10.
As a general rule I'm not a fan of vegan soap bases (most tend to use too much stearic acid & coconut oil which dry my skin), but I was impressed enough to order three of the new tallow/goat milk soaps and matching aftershaves: Asian Plum, Grecian Horse, Summer Fig.
I'll report back once I have them in hand.

IMO there are very few soaps that can measure up to Wholly Kaw with donkey milk and tallow.  I think B&M Reserve and A&E are both very good soaps, but they do not work as well in my den as Wholly Kaw, which is distinctly better for me.

I have Pamplemousse and Platinum, and both scents are delightful to me.  Pamplemousse has the refreshing grapefruit and citrus thing going on, as advertised. Platinum is a very pleasant barbershop scent. Please let me know your take on the L'Orange Verte if you try it.  It came back into stock, but I am so "soaped-out" at this point that I decided (reluctantly) to keep my money in my pocket.

If I had to put them on a scale of performance only
1. Wholly Kaw
2. Barrister and Mann
3.A&E

If I had to do the same thing but scent wise using the same companies it would be
1. Barrister and Mann
2. A&E
3. Wholly Kaw

Shave Cream: A&E Grecian
AfterShave: A&E Grecian
So I just received the shave cream and aftershave today, so excitement was building in me to try this soap the 1st chance I got. Scent on this is very strong but lovely! This from what I read is also a Fougère. Still not familiar with what makes a soap a Fougère, but I seem to have a thing for them.
I have a sample of Grecian Horse, and I love the modern cologne-type scent of the product. However, I cannot really make the fougère connection that Ariana & Evans does on their site. This doesn’t smell much like any of the other fougères I have tried. Grecian Horse to me is a modern masculine scent, but we all know that scents are perceived quite differently from person to person.

I’ve also tried Asian Plum just once. Definitely a nice scent, and even better performance. Wet shavers are spoiled these days, with all the good soaps that are available.

We definitely are spoiled I can say I’ve bought 5 soaps just this month so the den needs too cool down and chill lol. I’m lost on what makes a soap a Fougere to be totally honest. I googled the word and from what it said is basically a whole bunch of scents combined to make a really nice scent... sooooo every soap is essentially a Fougere lol anyway I find the same concept where this soap has a cologne type of scent very nice, it’s strong but easy on the nose. I don’t really get any bitterness to it which is nice because I’m not fond of T+S type scents. It works great although performance could be increased after using it a few times. I’m happy with it. I bought summer fig as well and as much as the scent is great its also light and does not perform as good as Grecian. This is my opinion I use straights so I really do base on slickness and protection.

Haha, exactly! Smile

By the way, while Grecian Horse is still my favorite scent of the new formula soaps, I also recently tried L’Orange Verte for the first time, and found it very appealing.

Those A&E soaps with the faulty labels (failing to list tallow as an agreement) are still out there lurking. I received one today from West Coast Shaving.

I'm sorry to hear that, and I suggest you contact A&E about it.  I contacted them about the same problem, and they sent me proper labels for each of the two soaps I bought.  Also, the last time I checked, I found that https://aegrooming.com/ had the information I was expecting and that matched the labels they sent me.

As long as tallow is in the soap, I'll simply just use it. No harm, no foul. And I have no idea how ingredient became agreement in my post. I am just happy to have remembered reading this thread which cleared up my confusion when I took a look at the tub--pretty disconcerting.
