I love the AOS sandalwood scent. All I ever hear about are their creams. Anyone with any info on their shave soaps? I'm not really a cream guy.

The old tallow formula was great, made by Valobra. From what I hear, the new formula soaps are like most of the big brand soaps (GFT,TOBS,T&H,C&E). They are hard to lather and disappear while on your face.

This is also what I have read about the new formula AOS soaps.

Art of Shaving was bought by Procter & Gamble a while back. That would account for the reformulation.

That's disappointing to hear. Such a waste of a great scent. Wish they were still tallow based.

If you want old formula AOS, just buy some Valobra based soaps (Valobra or C&S). As they are still the Made it Italy Tallow, used to supply AOS, from what I understand.

All evidence has been buried, all tapes have been erased.

I used the same soap this morning. It's worth the price. IMO.

Wow, that is a good price! I figured it would have been much higher. Thanks for the link!
