EWE will be happy to know this was my last Sheep shave for a bit. I've officially closed the tub and will SHEPHERD it off to the back of the soap cabinet.

I'm now going back to the MacDuffs, to finish off my extra tub. As it is half full, that'll take me 6+ weeks, I WOOL'd imagine.

I won't tempt you, Eric, with another grandiose review, otherwise you may FLOCK to your tub for a shave. This would FLEECE you of the joy you're currently experiencing with Mystic waters. So, I'll be SHEEPISH and merely say it was 'Good'.

Ok... Time to put away the puns before the torches and pitchforks come out. Lol. Have a blessed Sunday folks! [Image: 45535d22ada475651d2551d398f8f472.jpg]

So... The other day I reset the halfmoon knot in my trotter handle. It is a floppy knot by nature. It is also very soft and quite reminiscent of the SynBad from APSC. I believe I reviewed it as such, some time ago... but after much use the SynBad is still 'king'. I guess I was hoping by removing the spacer it would better emulate the SynBad? Well, I apparently got way overzealous with the Silicone. The result was, when it didn't work for me, I had trouble pulling it.

Basically, I pulled and I pulled and even utilized a rubber kitchen gripper. The knot finally came out, as did a lot of hairs. It kept shedding hair all through the day... Almost every time I touched it. It calmed down by the end of the day, only losing a hair or two every once in a while. So, I felt hopeful and I re-glued it. Unfortunately, after discussing my dilemma with Eric, it lost another 5 hairs. Murphy's Law, huh? This morning, I ran my hand over it to see how the knot dried and if it was done 'throwing a fit'... Nope. I counted at least 10 hairs lost. So, at this point (loosing somewhere in the ballpark of 45-50 hairs, maybe), it's gotta be replaced.

So, off to Milton's (Turn N Shave) Etsy shop this morning. However, instead of the quarter moon, I threw a wrench in the mix and on a whim ordered a fullmoon knot. We'll see if I made a good voice or messed myself up yet again. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for the talk, Eric MaineYooper . I was so close to feeling like it would survive. Unfortunately, knots can be quite stubborn, it seems. This one is wanting for the grave... Carry on my Wayward Synth. Lol.

Happy Tuesday folks!

It’s sad when a beloved knot does that, especially when it’s a consequence of our own well intentioned actions Sad  I did something similar to one of my early and expensive silver tip badger knots. I thought adding boiling water to my scuttle would be a great way to get really warm lather. I was wrong. Not only did it destroy the lather it destroyed the brush. Bristles fell out in clumps. That was 10 years ago and I’ve learned lots since then. I never made that mistake again. Nope, I made all sorts of completely new mistakes!  Big Grin

Yikes, that sucks Mark. Silvertips are expensive to begin with. If you lost a high end one... ouch! I'm really sorry to hear that.

Luckily for me, it was a cheap knot. Well worth the price for the life lesson I received.

I have been a fan since Point of Know Return and they are in my play list frequently, but I have never had a chance to see them. I am very happy for you!

Ugh, that sucks. Sorry Eric. I just checked their tour schedule... the closest they come to Maine is Concord NH. They obviously need to beef up their NE tour schedule. Most bands do that... East Coast gets the shaft and they do 47 shows in California alone.

Now, when The Point of Know Return was released, I was busy listening to Twinkle twinkle little star and other classics (considering I was only one, lol).

I decided to double down on cheap brush experiments. I just ordered the "YAQI Caramel Cat's Whisker Synthetic", a 26mm brush. It's supposed to be some sort of G5 knot and the very few reviews I've seen so far are promising.

I found it on AliExpress, so it'll be here sometime next month (hopefully).[Image: d3bd6e5809a5fb0e7c2e3002b5052589.jpg]
