Thanks Dave. It's small and simple. After going crazy for years, I'm happy to keep it in a workable size for me.

In addition to the visible, there's 2 soaps and a stack of towels to the right. Also 3 post shave products and some frost drops in the cabinet. I keep my tools and my blades in a drawer below the sink. That's about it. Simple.

And Paul, I do like the look of your shave space. It does have a retro yet modern vibe. Very nice and neat!

Hey! I put on my best makeup for that picture. Lol

Thanks Eric. It's an old bathroom, and a tiny space. Heck, there's not even any outlet in there. Retro is befitting. Not sure about modern. Lol. However, it's pretty much all my own. The wife prefers the full bathroom, so I get to pile my stuff in here.

Nonetheless, the picture was really to just show the brushes. The clown was a funny addition.

The glue has set and I used it dry on my face this morning to see the general performance. It's absolutely hard / impossible to tell how it'll really work on a wet shave by just dry brushing it once or twice. Still, it brought back a reminder of why "my favorite knot" was relegated to storage: the tips. Something happened to the 2BED (at least mine) with all of the daily usage - remember, at one point this was my only knot... I believe. They seemed to have gotten "sharp" or "pokey". It wasn't that way when I got it, so I can only imagine something broke down or wore away or ... I don't know. Again, I've used these daily for a while. So, maybe I pushed it too far? Also, maybe that's why AP cannot get them anymore... the manufacturer could have come to this realization... it has a short lifespan?

Given the short time it was available, and that all the others still are, this seems plausible to me. Good reasoning!
Well it feels like it could be softer after the cleaning. I won't know for sure until tomorrow night. In the meantime, here's a picture of the brush lineup. Two 24s, five 26s, and a 28 on the shelf.

I believe this was the original medicine cabinet to the house - circa 1950s. As it works, and has a blade disposal slot, it stays. Besides, who am I to argue with my elders (and this cabinet is older than me, lol). [Image: 7c952ec8d434429f8c3ba6695d40f364.jpg]

I forgot to update this...

The brush was ok. Still scritchy. Since that wasn't normal for the 2BED, I have to assume it's compromised. To add to that assumption, it lost well over 12 hairs (I stopped counting) between the cleaning and the shave. Since it's an old knot, and should not (or rarely) do that, I pulled the 2BED and sent it to the landfill.

I got 2 brush options for $14 (or whatever it was) so I can't complain. I'll keep the handle, in case I want to buy another knot in the future. A brief chat with Milton at Turn N Shave brought up the idea of widening the handle a bit with a Dremel. I might look into that, at some point. In the meantime, I got the other one. Additionally, I plan to do a lot of Boar shaves this month, so I expect to be thoroughly preoccupied.

Figured I'd close the loop for anyone wondering what the outcome was. Have a great weekend folks!

I was able to post my first impressions with the Tatara blade last night, but as I was putting it onto that thread, I didn't want to go into any other aspects.

I did want to say... the more I use this Dscosmetic "colorful" short handle brush (T4 synth) the more I like it. The tips are so soft and while it isn't my typical brush with the bulb, glue bump, and splaying as it does, it's such a pleasure to use. The $2-ish price seems to be gone (or i can't partake twice, I checked - lol). Still, at the current price of ~$8 it's still a good deal. Of course, you have to endure AliExpress, which is a crapshoot for many folks. I guess any of their brushes with a T4 would be similar, but who knows... I'm officially set on synth brushes (I'm sure I'll regret saying that, lol).

Happy Monday folks![Image: 9dbcbecfe6c3b64c4b37ad3caf1a0ee4.jpg]

Beauty handle, eh?! And to have the knot work as well, <chef kiss>!! I always appreciate your humor in your posts. We can all be superstitious about stuff, can't we, like saying something is good and then we fear the next use will prove us wrong! Pharmacy practice has pretty much cemented that in place for me, ha ha!

Absolutely. I find that happens so SO often in shaving. I can't understand it. I will genuinely love a razor, a blade, a soap, whatever. Then, all of a sudden without any trigger I can see (like an evil curse) it'll start irritating me.

I can somewhat understand this with soaps... it could take a few uses for the ingredients to elicit the reaction... maybe? But a blade or razor that has worked for months, then all of a sudden causes irritation?! That's weird voodoo.

We certainly chose a strange hobby Eric.
