Anything that can go wrong will happen while I'm shaving...

Another great shave. I broke out two Astra blades to put the two Overlanders head to head again. I've just been enjoying the Aluminum so much, I wondered if it had soured me to the heavier brass.

First off, I should have sold the Nacets blades when I was clearing everything else out. They just don't cut it compared to the Personna or Astra. (Pun intended). While they do go three shaves for me, they're also a rougher shave and not nearly as fun. I could easily use them, they aren't 'horrible', but why settle? I'm voting them off the Island...err... Den.

Nonetheless, it was an awesome shave this evening with both of the Overlanders. Additionally, I can clearly say, the Aluminum is nicer for me and my skin. Moreso, a bit more forgiving I think (due to the weight). I'll likely be using the Aluminum most of the time, with the coated brass as a 'backup'.

It's good to hear that the brass and aluminum Overlanders both worked well for you, and it says something nice about the design.  You might want to check out the Timeless Aluminum Razor some day, although you clearly are in good shape already with the two Overlanders.  I only mention the Timeless because I think you might like it, and IMO it is a bargain at $75 including the stand.

NIce, I have quite a few Original print ads (not copies) of razors and software that matches the equipment I have to use. Got them with the intent to get them framed and hung but alas..........they are still in a drawer....

Nice! I just searched Google for the one I have displayed. A dedicated print archive probably has better resolution prints (not to mention easier to find choices) .

For some reason, I think I had looked into it, and maybe even asked someone (or some folks) about it? I'm guessing, after my research, I didn't think it would work for me? Or maybe I just got distracted, lol. Nonetheless, I'll definitely consider it as one to try.

Shaved with both razors again, since I had them both loaded still with astras. Another awesome shave from both. I might give the nod to the Brass this time... For God knows what reason. This makes me smile that they're so close, it could go either way.

Nothing bad to report, other than it was over too soon. A great shave was easily gotten.

So, to replace my second attempt at a APshaveco Synbad knot, I picked up the turn and shave quarter moon. It arrived yesterday and I immediately set it. It won't get its maiden voyage until tomorrow. This morning I did manage to do a test lather. It's got a lot of promise...

First and foremost, it actually fits in the handle- a 27mm opening for a 26mm knot. We're already making good progress here. It is definitely soft feeling. It seems to have a little more spring than the Synbad, maybe somewhere between that and the 2BED. IMO, it's also much more dense! It reminds me a little bit of the (older, original quality) Cashmere knots. It felt good on the face, for the brief trial. Tomorrow night will be the real test.

What I didn't like... If you look at the picture, you'll see it's got a square shape. The last time this happened to me it drove me crazy. It should be round, or at least roundish. I hope it manages to settle into its proper shape. Only time will tell. The last time this happened, with a PAA knot, I eventually pulled it... Because I'm exactly that finicky. Lol. Hopefully it works out better this time.

Nonetheless, we're off to a good start. I'll report back after tomorrows shave. Have a happy and blessed Sunday everyone.

So this evening was the first shave with the turn n shave brush knot. I have to say, I'm absolutely impressed. It's as soft as the Synbad and super dense and fluffy. It was simply awesome to use. In fact, when I finished the shave, I looked at my other brushes and wondered if I needed to swap any more out... I was that impressed.

I can't say with 100% certainty that you'll love it, Eric... But I really think you will. In fact, I'd be shocked if you didn't. Still, there always the chance I misjudged. Nonetheless, if you need a good APShaveCo alternative, here it is (IMO): The Turn N Shave Quartermoon synthetic.
