I sometimes feel all I post is what I want next (unbridled consumerism) or when something goes fantastically well or goes wrong. But as you pointed out, and made me give a good think on, there are many shaves that are good to great, giving me the results I want without drama or a blood-letting!
Thanks Eric. I felt it was time to post something good, especially since I am on a "winning streak". Lol.

Fwiw, you shouldn't feel at all like this is reminiscent of you. I find your posts great, full of positive content day in and day out. We all ponder our next purchase. Heck, I just posted a WTB late this morning. Lol. It's how the hobby works. But you absolutely post good, happy shaves and share a glimpse into your life and what's going on. I enjoy reading your journal for just those reasons.

Happy Sunday!

Thanks for the kind words, Paul. These Journals (thanks Dave in KY for getting a section for them here!) are a big part of what I enjoy about our crazy hobby obsession. Whether being encouraging or getting encouraged, it is enjoyable.

Here's one for everyone. I'm in Albany NY... Pasteur's pharmacy is ~3 hours south in NYC. My order was shipped on the 17th and as of today, it's now in Sunny California.

In case you wondered why USPS wanted to raise their rates, again... It's obviously done so they can give our packages the vacations we can't buy for ourselves.

Can I request my package bring me back some souvenirs? Lol.[Image: 82c1739450faaf871967865475f21ed3.jpg]

Thanks Dave. The delay is fine, I'm not in any super rush. However, my wife brings up a good point... San Francisco is home to Ghirardelli. I hope it brings some home with it.

I hate to think what might happen if UPS strikes.  The demand for shipping will overflow onto remaining outlets, including USPS.  The resulting imbalance, where demand for shipping far exceeds available capacity, can  slow things down catastrophically.  The obvious precaution that should be taken is to stock up NOW on critical items, like razors, soap, brushes, etc.  Tongue

Lol. Not a horrible idea Mike! Especially in States like NY, where USPS is going through some big reorganization.

I hope it is done by 8/1, but they're usually slow to implement things. It'll probably last until year end. Coupled with a UPS strike, I'm screwed. Lol.

I suspect we have some bad times ahead my friends.

As I posted in my WTB thread, I caved and bought a Karve Aluminum Overlander new. It is listed as Work needed (or something like that?). So, who knows when It will actually arrive. Hopefully sooner rather than later, but I do have the brass keeping me company in the meantime.

Here's a picture of the razor. I opted for a red colored base plate. I think it'll look really sharp! The picture is a bit wonky as I used Google's magic eraser to remove the one next to it. Still, it gives a rather good idea of what it'll look like.

Happy Thursday folks!![Image: fd3750d8d4810c0fecfa110d3986fafa.jpg]
