It gets its second run today. I'm sure it'll be good. I may still grab a tub of the Zingari. I'm waiting until after today's shave to decide.

I've been scooping it, so if I decide it's not for me, I can pass it on.
Well, it was indeed a good shave. Not quite as close as I like, but I didn't want to get any irritation. That's ok. It's still a darn close shave.

I think I was at a disadvantage going in, as I'd been out in the sun all day. I've definitely got some sunburn brewing. All things considered, I'm quite happy with the results today.

Have a great evening folks!

Haven't posted in my journal for a while...

Tonight I shaved with the Overlander with my newly acquired Zingari unscented soap. What a great shave. Very happy I decided to order this one.

In all of my den thinning I've actually been considering adding a razor. After the discussions recently on aluminum razors, I thought it would be nice to get one. Originally, I was thinking of something more mild than my Overlander. However, I keep going back to the Henson Al-13. I'm still on the fence, but with them having a new version and my memories being fond for it, I might jump on a new one (or a lightly used one, if something pops up on the BST). I'm still talking myself into it, so we'll see.

Nonetheless, a very happy shave tonight. Have a great evening folks!

As I had mentioned to Dave in a PM last evening...

The Henson has a really cool 'feature' I found unique. Unscrew the handle a 1/2 or 1/4 turn and the gap increases ever so slightly. Because of the way they built that insert in the baseplate (i think), the handle stays tight as if it were still completely threaded to the base. Additionally, that tension you still find in the handle is throughout. The plates are solid, the blade is very rigid. It's almost like an adjustable without the physical settings.

I miss that little trick. Lol. That's one of my big draws to getting a Henson again. Though, I'll probably try the Mild this time. I suspect it'll be efficient enough still, especially with that loosening trick. I had all mediums, before.

Happy Sunday folks!

So yesterday a buddy here messaged me that he did have the Henson razor. Unfortunately, it was basically new (near new?) and he'd have to ask close to what the July 4 discounts would cost me. So, I was thinking I should grab it at one of the many vendors who sells them, while they are offering a discount.

The more I paused and watched the complete purchase button, the more I felt bad. I'm going right back down that slope... I have a razor I like. I don't need a second razor until such time as the nuclear accident hits and I grow a second, mutant face. So... What am I doing???

I closed the BST and walked away from the browser. I need to stick to my guns... At least longer than a hot second. So, I'm back to the mentality of using my one (awesome) razor. Whew! Temptation almost had me.

It's a new week... and for my friends in the States, it's a Holiday week... a week to reflect on independence and all we've accomplished in nearly 250 years. God bless America.

Have a good one folks!

Another great shave with Zingari Unscented. Now I'm at the point where I'm shaming myself for not ordering this when I first tried it. Lol. Not that my Razor Emporium doesn't do the job, too... But it's not in the same ballpark as Zingari. Same goes for the Macduffs.

Thanks again Eric MaineYooper for the samples.

Happy 4th everyone!

Not much going on, but I figured I'd post just to post, since they've been good shaves. Don't want to post only when there's a problem. That's so pessimistic...

Went back and used the McDuff's again, followed by Zingari this evening. Both good, smooth shaves. Both were with Nacets... with this evening being shave #1 on a new blade. Same post shave balm - Stirling Glacial Unscented... I also used the PAA last shave, but not today.

Really a case of "Another good shave, nothing to report". No complaints from me. Have a great rest of your weekend folks!

Hey Paul, that was a nice post. I sometimes feel all I post is what I want next (unbridled consumerism) or when something goes fantastically well or goes wrong. But as you pointed out, and made me give a good think on, there are many shaves that are good to great, giving me the results I want without drama or a blood-letting!
