Hey Paul, my geography isn't up to snuff, as I thought you were in western NY, but Google showed me the errors of my ways! Hope you aren't getting pounded with snow like Buffalo, and that all is well with you and yours!

Also swapped out the Boar I had in the Fluffy handle with the G5C. While the Maggards Boars are the best ones I've used, they still don't come close to my Synths for comfort or lather. Wait... Lather?!? Yep. I used it one last time today. A full load on a Synth gives me a solid 4 passes. Even if I'm lazy and don't load well, I get 3 passes worth no problemo. With the Boar, I had to reload after the first pass... The knot had nothing... NOTHING! Craziness.

Now I sit here and ponder: Do you think the soap that disappears from Boar and Badger brushes go to the same place the lost socks go, when they're put into the dryer? Things that make you go Hmmm.

The SynBad knot is great knot!  I have one in my travel brush and it has whipped up great lathers in several different areas of the country

Hey Eric,

Nope ... No snow here. I'm on the opposite side of the State (Albany). In fact, I don't see any snow activity in the near future. Eventually it'll arrive, but hopefully not until my daughter returns to college post Thanksgiving.

It definitely does a good job of building lather... Far superior than a brush this floppy should, IMO. Its claim to fame is the luxury feel... It really is spa-like.

Swapped a few knots the other night and ended up with a Boar knot in the Jayruh brush. Gave it a test run today. I think it fits well, but it also reminded me of the trouble I've had with Boar brushes keeping lather.

Back into the dungeon it goes. [Image: 40f517e3dfb88eb5a9e7d0bc7dd9bb7b.jpg]

Ruh roh!

I remember the boars being a bother at times for you.  I have had that experience as well. My plan for this coming Decemboar is it load long and with some additional loading as I go! I also plan to use the same knot for at least 3 days in a row, as my experience has been that this actually helped me later. And my last idea: I plan to use some mixed knots. If all that fails, I will just plan to knot use a boar not every shave!

By the way, I like that background picture. I have thought about doing something similar, but we just don't have the wall space. Maybe someday I will be able to have a shave shrine of my very own, lol!

So, to my shock I found a pair of blades our buddy from the great North-East MaineYooper had asked that I try. Completely forgot about this. So sorry.

This evening I did a side by side shave. The two blades look almost identical. The packages, both wrapper and boxes, are different. However, as far as I can tell, they're spot on. Maybe different years / decades of production... Or different plants / countries... I don't know. However, Personna must have their quality controlled dialed up to 11. They shave exactly the same (AMAZING!). Three smooth passes and i was good to go.

Obviously, I'll do some more testing. However, from this first outing, I cannot tell the difference. My apologies again Eric for my extreme delay. Back into the box of shame I go.

Yeah, but it would have been helpful if I at least still had the 'instructions'. Lol.

I believe Eric thought they were the same too, and he may have known the difference (factory / country or ???). But my lack of organization skills have me lost, as usual. Ooh well.

Absolutely no need for the box of shame, Paul mrdoug! It's only shaving and I forgot all about it myself.

FWIW, the tuck on the left are genuine Israeli Reds from the Nazareth plant, I believe. The tuck on the right is from the German plant (city unknown to me). I can tell no difference, either. And I don't notice any difference between both of these and the Personna Comfort Coated!

Glad you found them, Paul. Enjoy them for some good to great shaves, my friend!

Used it again last night... The one on the left, fwiw. (#1)

Another great shave, on par with the CC I like. I guess it is technically shave 1.5 for this blade, so it's definitely early on. Still, I am getting the impression it may hold an edge longer than the Blue and White US CC.

I have a 5 pack and a 10 pack, I believe. So plenty enough to get a good trial going over the next month or so.

Thanks again Eric!
