For Stirling supporters, their coffee beans make a good coffee! You can spend money, support Stirling, and still enjoy the restraint, ha ha!

That's a great point. Also, they have wonderful bath and bar soaps, which aren't shave related. Of course, I think that's exchanging one shopping spree for another.

Today is day 4 of the restraint... So if I can find a mirror around here, I probably look like Stewie. [Image: giphy.gif?cid=349c9dd70zm6mjsus96xgit8z9...y.gif&ct=g]

So if one wanted to purchase a meat marinade injector syringe for the purpose of decanting aftershave from plastic containers into glass, far enough removed?

As many of you know, I don't like to keep breakables in my den. Eric thought of me when he saw this nifty unbreakable plastic scuttle at PAA and decided to send one my way. It arrived yesterday and I decided to use it this evening.

Since I was using a scuttle, I chose the Wholly Kaw Dulci Tobacco cream: A generous PIF from Dave Dave in KY .

Finally, I used a wooden Trotter Handcrafts brush, made by Stubble Daddy . This was my first Trotter brush, before he had begun making brushes as a business. It has a special place in my den.

The weapon of choice was a Winning razor with a Personna Comfort Coated blade. I filled the scuttle with hot tap water and built my lather. The scuttle kept the heat pretty well. It was a very luxurious shave.

Have a good evening gentlemen and thank you all. Good friendship and good shaves. Life is good! [Image: b9a7d5444641d514e3def39617d52cb4.jpg]

Honestly, I think there's a QC issue at Oumo (or whoever makes them for APSC). I have two of them. The original one is close to the performance of the 2BED... Very nice. This newest one wasn't as good. It didn't splay as well and felt like there was a glue bump high up in the knot (there isn't).

I'm hoping it has some level of break-in to it. It's not a natural brush, but maybe the synth hairs will loosen up with use still? There's always a chance for a miracle.

Kind of late, but I wanted to chime in again. I experienced something like this. It didn't splay as well as I hoped it would and it did seem to have a bump or clump issue. I could not find a bump, but when used on my face it sure seems like it has one. I will use it some more in the next few weeks and see what happens!

I just reset mine so it is about as close to the top as it can go. Hopefully this helps or it's going to see very little use.

I'll probably use it tomorrow, as I'm in the mood to find out. To be continued...

Well Eric, I used it twice so I was 100% certain. I test face lathered it earlier. Than came back and shaved with it this evening. Both times it splayed easily. It still had a stiff rigidity that isn't present in the 2BED. So, it's quite different. Nonetheless, it splays well now and works like a charm. I'm quite happy with the reset.

My advice, set it as high as you dare. It'll make a huge difference. (and use silicone so you can change it, if you don't get the placement right at first)

Fwiw, I used MW Coconut Sandalwood this evening. It's a great performing soap, and the scent is awesome. It's a strong coconut scent, but it has a hefty dark sandalwood base allowing it to span seasons. It works quite well in the cold weather.

Have a good evening folks.
