Thanks Alan, that's a kind and generous offer. Unfortunately my resolve lasted about 30 seconds post writing that. I then went and ordered a 100 pack. Lol.

We'll see how they all work out. They're low enough price that it's worth trying, I figure.

So last night I had shave #2 with the Tatra blade. Just like the Tiger platinum, it was ok. The first shave was definitely the best (for both of them), and if I'm being honest with myself, I'd probably only want to do one shave on these blades. The Tatra is reviewed as being sharper than the Tiger, and it feels slightly moreso. However, it still didn't strike me to be as sharp as my Personna Comfort Coated (and those are supposed to be on the milder side, right?). Still, the Tatra is a good backup and having 100 isn't too space consuming. I have a few blades like that (Voshkod, BIC, and now Tatra).

Beyond the blade, I used the sample of Henson's again. The performance is quite good, and the scent (Havana breeze) absolutely rocks. I just keep coming back to it. I think this is shave 4 since I got the sample? So... 4 uses in 2-3 weeks... And I shave every other day. I hope the premixed soaps releases soon. I'm going to quickly run out, at this rate. Lol.

I spent last night painting (again). We're installing a fence, and we picked up untreated panels to save a buck. So, it's been a whirlwind of multiple coats of primer and paint. At this point, the skin to paint ratio is leaning in paints favor. Can't wait until this project is finally done and I can peel the new Behr exoskeleton off. Good times.

Man, I could tell you an epic fail of a story about fences and property lines. Please tell me you have a survey and know exactly where your legal property corners are!

Wish I could, lol. The house nextdoor actually sold in the middle of the project.

It lines up with the original fence, which if I am correct has to be 6" in from the property line. This also rhymes with land markers which were there before us... A previous assessment?

Hey Paul,

Man, I had to learn the hard way on fences and property lines. Here's the quick version if you want to hear a crazy story:

Sometimes in life, previous home owners/neighbors decide to informally "trade land" and "make up" their own property lines. They also may choose not get them surveyed/legally recorded. Then they choose not to disclose that information when the home is sold. Don't assume an old fence line is really the property line! This was a VERY tough and expensive lesson for my Wife and I on our 1/3 ac home lot that we purchased in 2012.

If its just an old fence or landscaping, it might not be that big of an issue, as long as the adjacent home owners are aware and all ok with it (yet still not a good idea IMO). The real issue for us came when our neighbors (which were very close friends BTW) informed us they were planning to do a large driveway extension 12' X 30' almost entirely across our property... oh, and build a carport over it. LOL. Yep, permanent structures on someone else's legal property! 

Things really hit the fan when I told them my Wife and I were not ok with that... I kindly explained if either of us ever go to sell our home that will be a huge headache and likely create some legal issues, hold up a home sale, etc. They informed me that a strip of my backyard and privacy trees were technically on their property and they are going to take spiteful pleasure in tearing that down and re-claiming that.

Long story short, I'm on year 3 of "re-constructing" my property. We have paid for legal Surveying, 250+ feet of new fence and lots of new professional landscaping, all to the tune of about $20K. We lost the better part of our backyard, but gained a massive (and very nice) side-yard with a view of the ocean. So we didn't lose land, but the property is very different now... yet legal, so that's good.

My Wife and lost some very close friends/neighbors over the whole debacle. Sad... I wish none of it ever happened to be honest.

PS. sorry to jack your journal with this, but I do like to tell my friends this story in hopes it helps someone down the line.

Yikes. It might be worth surveying to know, but if we uncovered an error and we're forced to act on it... the amount of de/re-construction that would have to take place ... Just ouch.

We have no plans of building on that part of the yard (pool, etc) so whatever is there is already done and it would be up to someone else to tell us we gotta change it. I just hope that day doesn't come. Even better, I hope the land plot sold to us is what we actually have. I believe we are most certainly in the mapped out portion of the sale documents. Still, those aren't always correct.

I'm probably just going to sit tight and hope nothing wicked this way comes. Lol.

Sorry you had to go through that Paul. An ocean view is nice, though. As is the piece of mind in knowing everything is legally sound.
