I may have been wrong about having tried The Hendrix Tobacco (maybe it was another scent?). I got a soap sample from Hendrix, along with a sample scent oil "Havana Breeze". It was awesome.

The scent was great, and the soap base was awesome (I couldn't get a great grip, even with an alum block). Post shave was really good, as well. No reaction, no issues.

The scent was definitely tobacco, a good mixture of many types. It smelled good and might just be on my list to pick up soon.

My only gripe is I don't think I could get used to adding the scent to the lather. It would absolutely make multiple scents cheaper, but something about it just makes it less enjoyable to me. Luckily, Pete sells it both scented and with the oils you add... So there's always a choice.

Great shave, folks. Have a good evening DFS.

So I wanted to give the Hendrix soap sample another run through. When I last used it, I was using the Gillette Mach 3, which has a crazy slick strip at top. This way, I am 100% certain all of the results I'm getting are from the soap only.

I went with the Personna Comfort coated (1) in my favorite Henson's TiMed razor. The brush is the one I refer to as 'Dagon' (from HP Lovecraft). I LOVE the colors of this handle, I just wish it was smaller. As it is, it looks like some behemoth with a shrunken head. A visual representation is attached, below.

Again, I loaded the soap then dripped in ten or so drops of the scent oil. Mmm, definitely a good scent! I have to say, I'm looking forward to grabbing this soap pre-mixed. I'm just too lazy to load the scent each shave, even if it means I can have a dozen scents for a few bucks a piece. Yes, I'm that lazy. Lol.

A good, smooth, easy four pass shave. The soap is slick and protective, absolutely a quality product.

In other news, we've had a series of unfortunate events in the family. August had been a rotten month. Included, my uncle passed away from COVID. It's a very crappy thing, and I wish he had gotten the vaccine.

I'm not going to preach, but I do ask that everyone here do what they feel they need to do to stay healthy, safe, and alive. In short, be careful! That is all.

On that somber note I bid you all a happy Friday!

Hmm, I wasn't particularly making a reference between them. But, if it's deep and meaningful, then yeah, it was totally on purpose.

Great read and sorry about the crappy August. Been the same here and haven't wanted to unload as I just swim thru it on into September. My sincere condolences on your loss Paul.

Yes, I want to extend my condolences as well. Typed too fast and missed the comment that I should have done. Take care, brother.
