Yes - Tabac is my favorite shave soap and one of the main reasons is the amazing post shave. I will say the scent has a funny way of growing on you.

The history of Mäurer & Wirtz is interesting as well. It dates way back to 1845:

Have you tried 4711 Aftershave? I like to pair it with Tabac.

I don't use scented aftershave, but I will defer to / alert HighSpeed Mike.

On that topic, Mike... If you don't end up getting any satisfaction from Pasteur's, I'll send you one of the two I have enroute. Everyone deserves a little bit of Tabac in the den. Lol.

I just read that 4711 (along with Sir Irish Moos) is owned by M&W. Don't know that it's a reason for the acquisition... But it's a happy accident, it seems.

Today's shave, which is mostly not post worthy, was good. Nothing new really, other than the second use of the Icecube.

Post shave it really cooled and hydrated down my face. I then quickly chased a few missed patches of stubble and reapplied. When I was done I applied my glacial Post Shave and all was well.

The silicone mold I snagged on ebay works so well. The cubes are about 4"x4". It fits perfectly on the built-in soap tray of the counter. Because it's so darn huge, it lasts through the 20 minutes or so shave time easily.

Thanks for the video that gave me the idea, Paul Stubble Daddy . [Image: 5296c8f391f50e16449555ef8bf217b0.jpg]

You are a prince Paul mrdoug,  and I thank you for you kind offer.  However, I am happy to say that I don't think it will be necessary.  Here is how the situation looks from my POV.

PASTEUR

Leandro et al have refunded both orders and asked me to reorder the non-Tabac items separately.  The graphic with the tallow formula has been removed from the Shaving Soap Refill product page.  The Shaving Soap Stick Refill page does still show "WITH TALLOW" and "In Stock", but it is the weekend now, and they probably have not gotten to changing that page yet.  At the moment, one of the refunds is still pending, and I am hoping this will not require more of my time, but I do not expect it will.  Assuming the second refund posts, I would have to say that Leandro and crew have handled the matter sensibly, fairly, and promptly.

AMAZON

The two Soap Refill pucks I ordered from Amazon arrived today, and they sure look like the real deal to me.  (See the photos.)  There are different review reports about whether or not the refills are tallow, and there are also different sellers offering refills through that page.  FYI I bought mine from Maple Prime.
