thinking of trying to use a parker base on a timeless handle and cap. will it work?
I don't know about the combination you're proposing, but I do mix and match bases and caps all the time. They don't always work. Only one way to find out if you have them quickly. Try and see.
If they thread together onto the handle easily and hold the blade securely, it's a success. Obvious ones that don't interchange are three post caps with slotted blade holder bases for example. Some pretty different brands and vintages of razors do work with the individual parts swapped around with other ones.

I don't usually do this, but I have been using a Weber DLC top-cap with a Karve Shaving Plate C bottom-plate for my head shaves and this combination seems to be working, beautifully, for me. I am not sure why, but I am greatly enjoying it.
However, it doesn't work for my face shaves.

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

One of my favorite vintage pairings is a Wardonia head with an Ericsson handle. The metal plating of the handle matches the cap nicely and the brown of the base plate looks nice with leaf like pattern on the handle. It feels very balanced and gives a very close, efficient shave. I use a metal hole punch to adapt the blade to the head.
