Kinda looking forward to it. So far I have all of the vendors covered except Mammoth Soaps. It's a ton of fun trying to stay on theme and also nice meeting new people in the sample trade forum. If you have never done it this could be your year!

Not participating, but it sounds like an interesting time (and quite the concept). Smile

Interesting way to get folks to buy soap from those vendors.

i have participated fully/partially last two years and I intend to this year as well. I have never purchased a single soap to compete - I bought $3 samples or (mostly) traded samples in the sample tread thread. The idea is to increase community interactions and expose users to products/scents/themes to something they aren't familiar with (for example, I will be getting a sample of Mammoth from a friend which I never used.).

Right, it is a way to get people to try and buy new soaps. That part I get. The part I don't get is this part, "I have never purchased a single soap to compete - I bought $3 samples ."

Isn't that buying something? Tongue

Man, we spend so much money and time in this thing, I honestly don't consider sample purchases a purchase anymore. I bought $5 worth of samples this year, for example, which I will pass on to someone once this is over. I am sure vendors are excited about that $5 and already planning their next vacation.

I’ve only been wetshaving for 6 months now but I definitely want to do this. I have been on a soap binge these past few weeks so o got most of the dates covered. I only need a mammoth soap. It should be fun.

I'm sure somebody here has one that you can sample.
