Hi all,

I've been interested for a while in trying Ginger's Garden Argan Shave Cream, mostly held back by the absence of scent samples. I mean, her scent list is Huge. So I thought I'd ask for advice.

I tend to prefer woody, earthy scents with little or no sweetness. My favorites are Proraso Sandalwood (about as delicate as it gets, for me) and Stirling Ozark Mountain (which I can't use, 'cause their soap makes my face break out). I like the Italian Barber sandalwood (very earthy) & Cyril Salter Vetiver (very smoky & spicey), both of which are strong, polarizing scents (lots of 'this smells horrible' reviews). I just got a tub of Italian Barber "Italy 1955" based on TSE's "Misses" video in which he described it as "muddy"; I haven't used it yet, but I really like the piney scent in the tub.

Anyone out there with similar tastes have any advice? Or anyone with more normal tastes who tried one & felt like it was too earthy?

Email her and tell her what you are looking for in a scent. Her name is Irena. She is very approachable and responsive. I've done it several times. If she does not have the scent on hand already, she can make it for you (usually takes her about a week to create a new scent in my experience). Btw, her aftershaves are very good too, imo.

I've tried a couple of the soaps and liked them a lot.

One was part of a box of stuff I got in a PIF on the Shave Den.

Has been a while, but I recall really enjoying how slick and dense the lather was. My first try of shave soap with clay in it.
The scents I had were very nice too.

I think one was Ylang Ylang and Lime and the other was a special edition Melon. The melon was maybe Cantaloupe. It was awesome in the summertime and smelled so authentic, a bit musty just like an actual juicy melon.

Ah, memories... Going to look into picking some up again. I'd nearly forgotten until seeing this thread.

I didn't realize how many products she had either.
Shave yourself.

Suede is a manly, warm leathery scent.

Creeds aventus calogne, it has a sweet but not too sweet top note, has woody bottom notes, not a real spicey scent just a nice refreshing good cologne smell.

To me, it smells like a sweet, slightly smoky pineapple scent. I've only used Fine Platinum though, which is a clone of Creed Aventus. I assume GG's clone would smell similar.

I have her Aventus balm and I like it. The scent doesn't last very long though, but it is a lighter and sweeter Aventus in my opinion.

I'm wondering if she has an Oud scented balm, anyone?
