Honestly one of the best off-the-bat shaving experiences I've had. Zero irritation, zero weepers, and very effective whisker-whacking. For context, I have pretty thick whiskers but sensitive skin (I get weepers and irritation easily). I'm finding mild-but-efficient razors to be best for me, and I'll say this one will likely beat the AS-D2 since the angle is even easier to find and the head does better under the nose. The light weight makes it feel nimble, which I really like. It was as easy-going, in many ways, as my OneBlade, but felt more adroit, and again, wins for under-the-nose access. I'm really glad I picked this up!

I won't retype what somebody has already said so I agree with this post. The ATT R1 SS is a tad more aggressive to me. Probably because of the extra weight. Glad I bought it for sure.

Nice to see more great reviews for both the M1 and the R1 Calypso, thanks for sharing your experiences! One or the other is now definitely on the top of my razor acquisition shortlist.

How would you compare to S1? Like you I'm in love with the S1, am I better off going with the R1 or M1?

The R1 is a little more aggressive than the S1, but just as smooth. I haven't used the M1 though so I can't help you there.
