As my current set up doesnt allow for serious mouse and key gaming, Ive been forced to only play controller games mostly. Back in the day I had my rig, my computer desk, and my wired mouse and keyboard, wireless stuff sucks LOL.

The biggest kick Ive been on as of late is old school and newer through the magic of running emulation on a good PC. Ive been using RetroArch, Launchbox, PCXS2, Dolphin. Playing all consoles, and all of their games at better resolutions, and anti aliasing to have amazing looking old games. Best of all, this gives you the chance to play the rare games, or games that weren't released in the US. You guys need to check it out on youtube, its awesome. It is a pain in the butt to set up, get working, and some games require manual tweaking of settings, but definitely worth it!

Overwatch, so much Overwatch XD

Mixed in a little Diablo 3, Skyrim still has a hold on me, Dark Souls 3 and a game likely no one here has heard of called God Eater 2 Rage Burst(if you like Monster Hunter but don't have a DS or Wii, this game is a good alt on PC on Steam). Smile

I know about retropi and the cool arcades people make with them. But someday in the future, I would love to build a standing arcade, but I would use a heavy duty PC and make it a super arcade, all in one gaming machine, and also have the ps3 with it.

I don’t know if this counts…. but I’ve been playing MTG on and off for about 25 years Smile. Currently playing on MTGA which is pretty sweet.

I’ve always been playing Call of Duty on and off for about 14 years on playstation and PC. These days COD isn’t as great as it once was, so I’m looking forward to the next battlefield game later this year!

I love to play video games, I recently set up my table gaming chair that i recently got from here and pc. I might well be mistaken but I thought Disney+ previously had passed through but now I only seem to get Dolby Atmos - presumably using the Xbox audio engine. Has it been removed or am I remembering incorrectly - with Atmos forced I think it prevents my Denon 7200 from doing any upmixing.

I just want to take it easy, with nothing jumping out at me and pretty scenery. It seems that the genre I like is called "walking sim", with point-and-click puzzles to solve. Most of the time you have no clear goal, just a series of "hmm... what does that do?" encounters.

I go for Cyan World's Myst franchise:

  1. Myst (and various remakes of it)
  2. Riven (my favourite)
  3. Myst III: Exile
  4. Uru: Ages Beyond Myst / To D'ni / Path of the Shell / Uru Live
  5. Myst IV: Revelation
  6. Myst V: End of Ages (my least favourite)

And "Obduction", also by Cyan (but not in the Myst universe). I'm playing that one again these days.
Looking forward to "Firmament" when it's released.

Also following the development of a new game, "Neyyah", by an independent developer (one guy, actually). It should be out this coming year on Steam.

I am (surprise, surprise) "jrose" / "John Rose" (the one from New Brunswick) on Steam.
We could be Heroes, just for one day.

Myst and Riven are the exact type of computer games that I love. I have been unable to find them for either PC laptop or Android phone play. If you have any information, I'd love to hear it! I first played Myst in '95 or '96. Absolutely fell in love with it. Riven challenged me beyond belief, and I resorted to "guides" to help me. Now I think I'd make myself use only notes and my noggin!

If you sign up with Steam you can buy them for Mac or Windows. Some other Steam games will also play on Linux. You buy the title once, and can install it on more than one platform. There is no monthly subscription or anything, just the purchase price of the game titles.
See https://store.steampowered.com/search/?s...ng=english
But Riven was excluded from that search for some reason - https://store.steampowered.com/app/63610...l_to_MYST/

I had Myst V: End of Ages installed on my MacBook Pro, and had been playing it for a few hours, but the next time it just crashed from startup. There were no OS updates, no game updates. Nobody knows why. However, I have a dual-boot Toshiba laptop with Ubuntu Studio and Windows 10, and it now works okay in Win 10.

Haven Moon was pretty good too, but it's somewhat shorter than the Myst games. Still, it's only CAN$4.59 (until Jan. 5)

There is a "Steam Mobile" app for iOS and Android, but it's only for browsing, buying, and discussing the games. I don't think that Steam has any games that will run on the mobile device.

Thanks, John, I am going to check this out! I loved the idea of Myst, and that you don't die. On the other hand, you can end up stuck for some time!
