Any decent alternatives to eBay?

I've been away from eBay for a while...returned a few days ago to create a sales listing.

The whole process of selling and receiving funds has been changed, and is unrecognisable to me.

Not allowed to link PayPal to your account...have to register with a service called Payoneer,
within the eBay site....it then transfers you to another site where you have to provide
all sorts of private data to register.

Date of birth, bank account no. and so on. I find this totally intrusive  and there is no way of
telling what could happen if there is a security breach.

Needless to say, eBay is a no-no for me from now on.

Are there any alternatives?

Ok, so how's this shaving hobby thing we do gonna' work of we, in US, are taxed now? We can trade or pay tax on selling our used gear? 
 This all doesn't sound like much fun.

And 12% to the 'bay is a high price to pay.

I just can't imagine that everyone who sold on ebay is happy about the changes.
Specially the ones who do it as their main source of business.

Seems like a long term plan - get you “hooked” on a thing then jack the prices. 

I’ve been avoiding the use of PayPal where possible because of their increasing politically motivated behaviour. Deplatforming etc. that leaves me with either just my credit card or Apple Pay. 

If enough people become disenchanted with eBay, an alternative will surely arise. That’s the beauty of capitalism.

Do you think Etsy can fill in for eBay?

I did think of Etsy but I get the feeling it is not for casual sellers, more for artisans
who have their own storefronts and sell a collection of goods.

Im thinking Craigslist might work for a casual seller....but I think there's a whole
lot of caveat emptor applicable there.

Perhaps Reddit too.

I wonder if it could be an Etsy business model where the artisan just acts as a broker storefront? I’m sure there’s complications I’m not thinking of but necessity is, as they say, the mother of invention
