Bought this trophy-cased, vintage bottle of Brut back in the day and not until most recently did I break the seal and splash some on.

Now, I remember when Brut was first introduced in 1964. (No, I was NOT shaving back then, ha ha). But who could forget Namath and Ali pitching this fragrance? For the curious, here are the "notes":

I have to say, considering that this cologne has a "grocery store" reputation, it is, IMO, a really terrific scent. My wife (very particular) gave me her seal of approval last time I was wearing it. Happy2
And the presentation back then...pretty cool. Anybody else "splash on" the Brut?

I LOVE Brut! I don't have that fantastic old school presentation, but it is one of those aftershave splashes I like to keep on hand. Just a fantastic, masculine, spicy fragrance. One of my favorites, to be certain!

Grew up with Brut so it will always have a place in my den. Not to mention my wife likes it as well. Maybe old school, but then again I wetshave, grill with charcoal, write with a fountain pen, etc.

I am not a fan of Brut but only because, even when wearing just a small amount, it precedes one into a room and I don't think a scent should ever do that.

Sorry Freddy. I'm a fan! Brut fougere certainly does have sillage though. Got to go at it with a light touch. (Freddy's been talking to my wife though. She is decidedly not a fan).

Had to look that word "sillage" up. Indeed it does.  Big Grin

The splash on isn't as strong and has plastic bottle and all. But I still use it frequently. Good clean scent.

I don't use it often. Rarely full strength either.

I like it well enough.

Usually I mix it with Aqua Velva or something else more fleeting. 1 part Brut and 2-3 parts A.V. Give or take.
Shave yourself.

There’s an association I have with the Brut scent that is so strong, that I won’t consider wearing the scent myself. It’s of course almost impossible to say how I would feel about the scent, had I not been exposed to it all those years ago.
Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”
