Badger Shaving Company ( www.badgershavingco.com ) a Vancouver based vendor is closing its doors. I went to the site on the weekend and found the announcement with everything 30% off - I was obviously late given that almost everything was sold out. Too bad, they provided good service and a reasonable selection of product.

That's too bad, especially for you guys north of the border. It's already hard enough for you to get certain products from US artisans. With all that's happened in the last year, it seems like we're starting to reach a saturation point in the shaving hobby.

Hi celestino , yes BC I think they had a brick and mortar shop also. They were always good to deal with.

No market saturation. Quite the opposite actually. Badger Shaving was booming, but he has a family and a full time job, and it was detracting from both. I've also spoken to another well known artisan who closed Shoppe recently, and their closure was not due to lack of business either. At some point we will either reach a peak, or wetshaving will grow so much that the big boys will buy the legislation they've been pushing and regain their lost market share. Either way, I'm hopeful that the peak is years away.

Thanks Rod. You obviously have more of the inside track than most of us here. What I said was pure speculation. I hope you're right though.

I think ezlovan is likely correct. Badger shaving was a vendor only and I know they carried a fair amount of Stirling Soap so I assume there has been communication. Most of the artisans and vendors in the wet shaving world have day jobs and other responsibilities competing for their time and at any given time, depending on the balance sheet and a general cost benefit analysis the business could be wound up. Kids only stay kids for so long and spouses might just decide that seeing as how you're never around already, maybe they'll just move on too. I totally respect putting family and the primary income earning gig first.

Yeah! Badger shaving Co was one of the best and my go-to here in Vancouver. Travis closed for personal reasons like Rod said. He was doing a terrific job and was not his primary source of income.

There are still some great bargains available at www.Badgershavingco.com 30% off how can you lose? There is still product by Dr. Jon, WSP, BEAVER WOODWRIGHT, Stirling, myersol, LASSC, and a few others.
