Fair enough. Seemed like you were talking to me since you quoted me. That's all.

Seems interesting and I like that Rocnel brings innovative designs to the table, but so far none have been my cup of tea.
To be fair, the Rocnel G is cheaper than the OneBlade. I've never been a fan of Rocnel's ideas for blade loading on any of their razors. Their idea for using FHS blades in this particular razor just looks downright ridiculously scary.
I think Blackland's Gem razor design looks better. A true 3-piece with blade "stops" (more like corner protectors)

It is cheaper than the current OneBlade Genesis. Thankfully I paid less. Still, the Rocnel has more questions than answers for me at this price range.

I was at the casino when I responded and trying to do it on a smartphone (Could have bought an original oneblade with that money but noooooooooo I donated to the tribe instead). My apologies if it seemed like I was attacking you.

got my rocnel gem on monday, shaved with it that evening. shaves great. i noticed that there is almost millimeter of forward/backward adjustment. naturally i pulled it back being the first time. i'd love for a more sausage-finger-friendly set-screw but other than that its a fine shaver, performance and looks!

Thank you so much for that detail. I've been asking people left and right for more info on how much the blade exposure can be altered in this mechanism. Glad it worked well for you.

you're very welcome. i was happily surprised by the adjustability. i suppose if you de-spined the blade you could have a lot of adjustment! (i'm going to have to try this now that that thought has happened).

This is a nice razor there is no issue with the fixed blade exposure but you have to pay attention in how you center the blade from side to side; the bottom blade corners have very little room for error, very tight tolerance. If the blade is not centered properly, being off a MM or two leaves one edge with a faction of sharp blade edge exposure which can result in that you can cut/scrape yourself.

I put in the blade and did not pay close attention to the blade ends, the razor does not give you much room for error. One end of the blade came slightly out of one end and in maneuvering the razor gave myself a clean slice to my cheek as well as leaving scrape marks to a few other area's.

I stopped shaving and readjusted the blade, made sure the ends were perfectly set inside the head and tightened down the set screw securely locking down the blade. The razors shaving capabilities is very good to excellent if you like Gem razors (also hand strop the blade 2-3 times each side after each use it will help keep the edge straight). Moral of the story excellent razor but don't put the blade in by a glance and fingertip feel. If you wear glass's put them on this razor can bite if you get lazy putting in the blade.
