With the success of B&M's DFS inaugural software. Is this Forum up for a DFS II from another artisan? I just used my B&M tonight and was wrapped in shaving heaven. There is also something special about being part of something unique to us. Share your thoughts please if you would like to have a DFS II.
Ah, che bel vivere, che bel piacere per un barbiere di qualita.

I think too many LE and forum offerings makes them less special and diminishes them.

One soap a year, one brush a year etc. Any more then that, is too much in my eyes.

The first one is still available, no need for another any time soon.

All evidence has been buried, all tapes have been erased.

I would agree with Bruce on this. The B&M DFS Limited Edition IS special. Keep in mind that it didn't happen overnight. The planning that went into this and the wrong turns that happened took quite a bit of time until everything was just right.

I, for one, would look forward to other limited edition items down the road but lets not rush it. Hopefully, they will come. Smile

It'll take me at least a year, with rotating 3 soaps at the same time, to kill DFS I. I personally wouldn't be interested in DFS II until at least then.

yeah, we're probably not going to do another LE until mid 2016...there's a lot of work involved with it and I don't want the idea of a LE to lose its allure.

^He's probably talking about the alcohol based aftershave nor being able to be shipped outside the US. Still could've got the soap though...

Might have been an ingredient sensitivity as well (cinnamon?).

Regardless, I agree with others re: LE things. I love the anticipation and enjoy trying something that is special but would not advocate having too many. Almost like a sale price that goes 365 days, you lose the appreciation and it really just becomes an every day low price.

Group buys on the other hand would be a happy medium, much like the recent Shavemac purchase that Teiste put together and I would support something along those lines personally with a member or members of our vendor/artisan community.

What Jeff said. The fact that I couldn't pair the soap with the aftershave was very disappointing and l decided not to get either.
