With all due respect Marko, I think you are being overly generous in your estimation of the percentage of men who actually use DE/SE razors in the First World. There is no way that these type razors will be brought back into production in the USA by Gillette. That ship has long since sailed. We saw that the Gillette "experiment" selling some of their Brazilian made Platinum Plus DE blades in major retailers in the USA back in 2017 was a failure with the remnants being greatly discounted and sold to Dollar type discount stores.
I think I have realistic expectations - low expectations.
I know that DE/SE/SR shaving will never be mainstream in NA but my point was that I hoped this Gillette "retro" razor doesn't actually do harm to whatever growth potential there might be. I'd like to see enough strength in the wet shaving market to support a healthy artisan/craftsman/merchant community. This razor is only getting interest because its got the name Gillette on it. If it were Acme branded it wouldn't be remarkable on Amazon. I'm sure there is a ton of what I expressed as my fear above going on - somebody sees some cool stuff on amazon and either buys it for themselves or their husband/boyfriend without any idea of what to buy other than is it shiny and is it cheap and the user experience isn't great leading to continuing the status quo - cart/can. They'll tell their friends and coworkers that they tried that old fashioned shaving thing and it sucked. Too bad.
