You are absolutely correct dominicr. That said, I'd like to make a point that - as the OP - I feel remiss at not having made before: This hazardous material business goes beyond shaving with broader and much more important implications.
EDITED for clarity and proper focus.
PS Good suggestion Dominic. I now have some Sir Henry's alcohol free products on the way.

There are so many great small businesses in the US that sell legit fragrances at amazingly good prices,
and stock a breathtaking range of labels.
Amazon is a company I avoid unless absolutely necessary. Everyone got clobbered during C19 lockdowns
but this guys net worth increased by 72 billion...he doesn't need our help.
FragranceX, Fragrancenet, Notino, Parfums Raffy....etc etc

It would be worth noting that there are quite a few artisans and vendors that actually sell through Amazon as well as offer items for sale on their own site nowadays... In most cases they are still doing what you are suggesting and in most cases the end user gets items quicker if the items are stocked in an Amazon warehouse!!

While we do better financially when you order direct from our site, it's not realistic to expect the volume of customers that we are seen by on Amazon on our own site without some EXPENSIVE internet advertising to drive traffic there. It would wipe out any financial advantage over Amazon. We would in no way be able to ship with 1 or 2 day shipping like Amazon either. I'm often amazed at how fast our product gets in people's hands.
Shave Sharp, Look Sharp
As far as I know, anything with alcohol cannot be shipped into the US directly to consumers.
I did manage to take delivery of a Nivea AS balm from a British vendor. No alcohol.
I assume that a stockiest vendor in the US can buy in bulk and resell.
If it’s already here, different story.
Not sure about The Peoples Republic of California laws.
I suppose some liquor industry lobbyist has convinced the Federal Gov’t that we might all be drinking European aftershave…much like the guy that lives in a van down by the river. This would obviously have a tremendous effect on the sales volume of McCallans 12yo scotch and/or Patron Reposado.
So if you’re thinking of filling up a snifter with a nice Fougere just buy it from a US Vendor.
CHEERS!
