Alright Boys And Girls, Tally Them Up!

Interestingly, I had just done such an inventory last week!  I have a bunch of samples to work through, but I am so happy with my Israeli Reds and GSBs that I want to buy 100 of each.  I am torn between using what I have, most of which I don't know if I'll like as much as the GSBs or Reds, or buying 100 more of the blades that seem to be "it" for me. And every so often try a brand from the sample packs to compare.

What is currently under the sink:

122 blades x 4 shaves each = 488 shaves or approximately 1 year & 4 months!

I'm at work, so this is a practice in the art of memory for me...

240 blades x 2 shaves per blade is 480 shaves which equals 1 1/3 years of daily head shaves.

I'm slacking. I need to get 100 GSB and 100 7o'clock yellow. Then I will be satisfied...for the time being...

Hmm right at the top of my head, I have a box of 200 Personna Platinums, 100 Personna comfort coated, 360 Astra SP's, 70 Feathers, 70 Sharks and various packs and samplers more or less 100 give or take.

Do you use a new blade every day?

Oh forgot to mention. I don't use a new blade everyday, my Astra SP's can last 5 days, Sharks 3 days, Feathers 3 days, Derby 2-3 days.

The others would also average around 3 days, I'm quite stingy and a hoarder. Haha.

Why keep 500 blades on hand? When I need more, I can go to the local drugstore and buy more. Having 50 blades or less takes minimal space and lasts me over eight months.

I meant that as applying to my own preferences, which are not necessarily those of others. But that does bring up a question: What is the point of having hundreds of blades on hand, often amounting to several years supply? They take up more space than need be, and it is not like double edge blades will be going away any time soon. Yet there must be some reason some people do so. That is not a rhetorical question, by the way.

Can I play too? 206,590 blades as of right this moment. Enough blades for a small village's lifetime.
