Hi All,

Here's the pass around list. Vlasta is going to send out two brushes and two razors, one for the West coast and one for the East coast. As per the usual DFS pass arounds, keep the razor for a week or so and then send it along to the next person on the list for your area. Once you have time, please share some feedback in this thread, whether good or bad.

As a precaution for the covid19 stuff, please soak the razor in alcohol, or something similar before using the razor and prior to shipping it off to the next person to limit our risks.

I received the razor on evening of the 27th I will be leaving my thoughts probably by Wednesday before I ship it out to the next DFS member on the list but so far I'm very impressed with the efficiency of the razor , and the brush has a great feel and and weight but I would rather have a nice fine badger knot, haha that's just my personal opinion.. but definitely more to follow

Sorry, I have been delayed in getting my thoughts posted.

To set the stage, I usually shave 4 times a week and my beard is medium coarseness.  My nornal routine is three passes plus cleanups.

First shave -  I had skipped a couple extra days when the razor first arrived so I had 4.5 days of growth when I first used the Alpha Outlaw.  I  was extremely impressed by the fit and finish of the razor and it felt great in the hand.  The knurled handle was top notch.  So, I loaded up a Rapira Platinum Lux and let er rip!

On my first pass WTG, I was blown away by the feedback from the razor, yet how smooth it felt.  There was a lot of whisker removal on that first pass, much more than I am accustomed to with most of the other razors in my collection.  Then, my second pass was  ATG.  Again, incredibly smooth and the feedback was still very strong.  My third pass was XTG and the feedback was noticeably less due to there not being much left to shave.  I did a couple of light touchups in the goatee area, but not much was needed.   I used a alum stick after the shave to judge feedback from any irritation due to the shave and NOTHING!  That's just incredible.  I did not have noticeable stubble until 13-14 hours later.

Second shave - This time was just a little under 2 days of growth and 2nd use of Platinum Lux blade.  I did a WTG pass followed by an ATG pass.  Both very smooth and the razor really sumg as it made short work of my stubble.  Mostly due to habit and my anal nature, I did a couple light touchups, but they really were not needed.  Again, the alum stick revealed NO IRRITATION whatsoever.   I noticed stubble a little sooner, but still 11-12 hours later.

Third shave -  Decided to shave just with 24 hours of growth and just wanted 2 passes (WTG,ATG) and no cleanup... third use Platinum Lux blade.  As before, very comfortable and very smooth sailing.   The alum revealed NOTHING!!  I hadn't noticed stubble for about 12 hours.

I had been what you would call a heavy lean after the first shave, but the subsequent shaves moved this solidly into the win column for me.  I have used very few razors and have had such efficient shaves with no irritation on the first uses of the razor.  Purely a joy to use.  I will definitely be getting one of these fine razors on order.

The brush was also a revelation as it felt superb in the hand with its flutes and weight of the Outlaw v2 handle.  I will definitely be considering a future handle order to have a custom knot installed more to my liking.  I have an Alpha Thater crossover brush on order already and will wait for that to arrive to see how that compares to the Outlaw v2 handle.

Overall, I could not be more impressed by the excellence of the Alpha Outlaw shaving gear.
