Yeah, The Kairos base is the only soap that I squeeze my brush out completely and then add just a little water as I am building my lather from my soap load. Doing it like that will produce a ton of thick rich lather!

I did exactly that, this evening, and had a MUCH better shave. Can't believe it took me this long. Haha.

On another note.... GroomingDept Will there be a restock of Angel at West Coast Shaving?

For the past couple of days, I've had Angel, Otium, Incense & Oud and Boomer loaded up in the cart while thinking of what to add in order to qualify for free international shipping (Canada). I finally found something, but when I went to check out, Angel was no more.
The razor Company has all 4, but they don't offer free International shipping.

tl;dr.....don't sleep. lol

I'm glad the suggestions worked out for you.

I'm afraid Angel will not be made anymore. But the scent will live on as an aftershave and perfume at some point.

@keyhole
Yep, I saw that. As mentioned though, they don't offer free international shipping at all.
My best bet would be to order the one tub from them, and the other 3...plus something else, from WCS.

I just tried Otium today. It’s my first Nai base and it performs terrifically. Otium smells great too. I would love to see a few of my favorite GD scents — Verbrannt, Tao, After the Fire — reproduced in the Nai base, though that might be impossible since Nai is made with essential oils, I think. Maybe in the also great Kairos base?

Hi UngerWoo

I’m delighted you enjoyed Otium. Thank you for your business!

Nai’s scents are not all EO based. Soaps that are 100% EO scented are part of the Astute Collection. The designation is on the side labels of those soaps.

Tao will be re-released in the spring in the Kairos base. After The Fire and Verbrant will be re-released again in Karios too, in the fall. - Dispelling another rumor that I don’t re-release scents Smile

Interestingly, so far, my scents are about 50% or more EOs. Except for Amara which has zero EOs!

Some of the soaps and other doodads I picked up from Mohammad have been sitting under the tree and I’ve finally had a chance to use them. This was my first time order from Mohammad and he reached out and answered some of my questions, and helped me alter an order I placed. Great customer service!!

But it got even better; I was surprised to find a sample of Peach Chypre in the box, as well as a tub of Lemon Bay. For a first impression, I’ve been won over! The real kicker is Mohammad doesn’t even have to do this as the products have been so unbelievably great that I would (and will!) happily order from GroomingDept again.

I’ll try to share my thoughts on the products individually as I get around to trying them.

First up is the Lavender and Bergamot Fortis soap. This is an invigoratingly fresh scent; simple but well expressed. A great way to start the day! For the price, the Fortis base is formidable! It’s not quite as good as the Lusso used in the Unum soap I purchased, but Fortis is still just as good if not slightly better than many other soaps I’ve used. Another reason I’ve continued using this soap over the last few days.

The Hydrating gel has been a great surprise as well. I add a quick squirt to my Rose Thayers and apply to my face and have felt wonderfully moisturized, even in the unforgiving wind at the top of the toboggan hill with the kids yesterday. This is a product I’ll be ordering again.

The rejuvenating serum has a great matching scent, but was quite thick. Perhaps I should have applied it first with some moisture still on my face? I’ll experiment with it a bit more, but since I’ve always used it in conjunction with the hydrating gel, I’m not totally sure of its effect. I’ll try a shave tomorrow with just the soap and serum and see how it feels.

All in all, some great products and great customer service. In some ways I’m disappointed I didn’t try Grooming Department products sooner, but am happy to be able to enjoy the wonderful scents and performance now.

If you haven’t tried them, there’s still some
Fortis soaps available for $17 which is a fantastic price considering the great quality.

Thank you Mohammad!

Thank you for the wonderful post! I'm delighted you enjoyed the products you used. Incidentally, Bergamot and Lavender is the sleeper of the Fortis releases. I think it came out really nice Smile

Can anyone that has Aether give me a rundown on the scent? I mean I know it's Peppermint forward but how much do the other scents stand out?
