I have looked on the GD website to see a brief description of the different formulas, but it doesn't say a lot about what type of shaver would prefer the different bases.  I guess the proof is in the pudding. . . . . . so ultimately it comes down to which one works best I guess.

If GroomingDept is adding some tricks learned in the development of Kairos, I am really excited to see what comes next for Mallard.  Mrs Presley likes the Mallard Fougere scent well enough, but really likes what she calls cologne type scents (Ingress or Boomer for example with GD).  Even though she says this, her favorites are Sandalwood Nobile and Incense and Oud scents (and these are overall favorites not just GD favorites for her).  I am really hoping there is a scent in Mallard eventually that is in their direction--not sure I know what "gourmand" means, and I don't trust myself to pick out the right thing by the scent profile.

I have so many good soaps right now, that I can wait on one that is a good fit regarding scent, but I am definitely looking forward to the updated Mallard also.

The upcoming Mallard builds on this Mallard but borrows a couple of traits from Kairos and Nai. It'll definitely distinguish itself from Kairos and Nai. They're gourmand in the sense they have lots of vanilla, but not cloying. Some are on the spicier side and some have forward fruity or boozy notes.

Mallard Coconut Rum
Mallard Corretto
Mallard Kulfi
Mallard Earl Grey Gelato
Mallard Almond Vanilla
Mallard Strawberry Rhubarb

Mallard Corretto
Mallard Kulfi
Mallard Earl Grey Gelato
Mallard Almond Vanilla
Mallard Strawberry Rhubarb

Can’t wait for the Mallard Base! The “old” Mallard base is one of my favorites to date. I can’t wait for “Coconut Rum”, “Earl Grey Gelato” and “Almond Vanilla”. “Earl Grey Gelato” is one of my personal favorites from the earlier Mallard formulation  Big Grin.

I don't believe I've ever tried the Mallard base.
Coconut Rum will DEFINITELY change this though.

Still waiting for Amare to get here, in Canada, as well. Looking forward to it.

If the almond vanilla is not overly complex I can see that being worth a shot to get to experience the new Mallard.

Creams are a Work-In-Progress. But I'll release a few versioned releases this year à la Saponificio Varesino style of numbered releases. Janus Tallow Cream will be the first of the bunch, and there will be a Lusso Cream too. I have so many things in the pipelines, I don't know what to prioritize yet.

Mallard Almond Vanilla is really nice! Scent notes: bergamot, lavender, heliotrope, white flowers, almond, amber, vanilla, and sandalwood.

I'll be happy to buy a "beta" version since I sometimes don't really feel like lathering a soap puck. Looking forward to it! I'm sure even your first version of it would be great!

Thank you shaveSymptomatic for the vote of confidence Smile

I have already made several Janus Tallow cream versions. Also, the formula already has a proven track record as a soap. Part of the reason for the beta iterations is to experiment with different containers and few textures.
