Looking at some of the online recipes it does seem very straight forward. 400F and anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes depending the AF. Rub with your favorite oil and season at will.

Jason, I have done tilapia in my air fryer by just rubbing a bit of olive oil on it, sprinkling some lemon juice, and then sprinkling a bit of Mrs. Dash non-salt seasoning.  It came out good but be very careful of times.  It's better to test a couple of minutes before a recipe's time to see if it's the way you like it and so you don't dry out the fish.  Those extra couple of minutes can make the difference between moist and dust. Two days ago I did my first pork tenderloin in the air fryer.  It came out okay and it was only my first time.  However the many times I've used the oven has proven better for me.  What does that tell me?  It tells me that a LOT of trial and error is going to have to go into getting both time and temperature right for my particular air fryer and how I want my final result.  When it comes to pork tenderloin, I like it a bit pink in the middle, tilapia needs to be moist but cooked through, tater tots need to be crispy, etc.  So far, not one recipe has gotten the time and temperature 100% right for me.  They are not far off but not perfect.  I think this comes down, in part, to the particular air fryer so not knowing which one the recipe was based on can throw things off and, of course, personal preference (rareness of meat, crispness of potatoes/vegetables, etc.)  The trial and error continues. Big Grin

I'm in agreement Freddy. All of the air fryers are different. Or at least ours is . Even more so than traditional ovens. But that makes sense due to the way they work. It's why I won't post recipes since it's going to need tweaking anyway.

Last night I made broccoli again and tweaked the recipe. I think I'm done with it. I prefer steamed. Next, wings are planned. I expect those to be tailor made for air frying. I love wings and they fit right into keto like a hand in a glove. Somewhere in the queue is cauliflower. I expect that should work fine.

Brian, I used to love tater tots when I was younger so I recently purchased a bag.  I made them twice in my air fryer but last night I decided to try them in my Breville toaster oven.  Honestly, the toaster oven won, hands down.  The heating/cooking instructions I found had the air fryer at 350 for a total of 10 minutes, after preheating.  The heating instructions on the tater tot bag for baking was 24 minutes at 425 degrees, after pre-heating the oven.  With both, the tots had to be turned at the half way point.  Needless to say, the recipes are not even close.  The toaster oven produced crispier tater tots and cleanup of the toaster oven was easier and slightly less messy.  I like a good piece of tilapia and it is one fish that is very easy for me to do in the microwave.  The air fryer takes much longer but, if watched carefully, produces a slightly nicer piece of fish.  Here, again, while not difficult to clean the air fryer, there is virtually no cleanup when using the microwave.  The winner here, almost a tossup.  So far, air fryer winners for me have been naked chicken tenders (seasoning but no breading) and baked potatoes.  I especially like the way baked potatoes turn out.

I am still pretty new to the air fryer so I am sure I shall find other foods that are perfect for it, especially once I can tweak time and temperature.  The trial and error goes on. Big Grin

Small adjustments make a difference.  I made naked chicken tenders again, just now.  The recipe called for 12-15 minutes cooking time at 375 degrees.  I kept the temperature at 375 but cut the cooking time to 11 minutes, flipping the tenders half way through.  The difference was noticeable, in a good way.  They definitely cooked through but were even moister than my last batch.  I think part of the fun of the air fryer will be the experimentation. Smile

Last night I AF fresh chicken wings and I think chicken evolution was geared with todays AFers in mind. They came out really good. The recipe I used was written by my AF manufacturer so I changed nothing and they came out perfect. (20 min @ 400°F and I just salted them)

One thing I still don't like though is washing the basket. Tonight I have the other half of the package to cook and I'm going to use the foil lined tray to see how that works. I suspect I'll need to flip them. But I'm working on the hard to wash by hand basket solutions. Other solutions I have yet to try is parchment paper in the basket, or a silicone cooking mat cut to size for the bottom.

I also believe the best AF are the enclosed ones with the removable tray like I have. The toast oven type takes more tweaking and cleaning. I have pretty much been successful with everything I have thrown at it. This morning I tried tossing my discarded sourdough starter in the AF instead of the frying pan. 390F/15 minutes and it came up wonderful. It had nicely risen and it was all cooked from the inside. Easy breezy cleanup to boot. What's not to love.

I made chicken tenders again but this time cut the cooking time to 10 minutes and they came out even better.  The instant read thermometer showed them cooked well beyond the 165 degree recommendation but, once again, moister than the previous batch.  Today, I may try tilapia and tater tots again.  While the fish was fine I plan on definitely changing the time and temperature (slightly higher for both) for the tater tots.  I also need to experiment with my vegetables more.  I didn't care for the way my Brussels sprouts came out the one time I tried them but after seeing Max's, I know there is a sweet spot for them somewhere. Winking

ShadowsDad, like Max, I have one of the self contained air fryers.  Mine has the basket and a separate tray that sits firmly in the bottom of the basket but can be removed for cleaning.  I really didn't want a teflon coating but wanted non-stick.  The ceramic coating in mine is a dream to clean.  Both the tray and basket clean right up with a sponge and soap.  I may have to soak them in sudsy warm water for a few minutes but more often than not I don't even have to do that.  Frankly, that is a huge selling point for me.  A friend of mine wanted an air fryer toaster oven combination so I got her one for her birthday.  She used it right away and loved the results.  I shall have to ask her about cleanup.  This is the one I ultimately decided on after going crazy trying to decide which would be best for her needs: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08LDJ...=UTF8&th=1.  As with air fryers like Max's and mine, there are almost too many choices out there for the air fryer toaster oven combinations.
