Realizing everybody has different skin and beards. However, if I attempted a shave with so little prep and that thick lather on a dry coarse beard, would literally come out looking as though the loser in a Marseille bar knife fight. Certainly could not go out in public for days nor shave again for weeks. Suspect the Durdan so mild, he getting away with murder.
I don't believe his lather is thick! You can observe that the lather appears filmy during his second pass. Notice the exceptional slickness as he begins the third pass on his neck.
I don't think this is universally applicable, but as a product designer, this is exactly what I envisioned. Lather that is not voluminous, with extreme slickness and glide.
