Has anybody tried "Ceremony" yet? Worried it may be too floral, as I typically don't like florals, but the rest of the notes sound nice.

I have Ceremony. It's really not floral at all. There is some note in there that reminds me of rose, but the soap is so well blended it's hard to decipher anything in particular. It has this soapy retro vibe sort of like ivory soap. Probably the main note in this soap is the orange blossom- not very floral, rather a zingy fruit accord. Sort of like fruit striped gum. In general, it's a clean fresh soapy scent. it's interesting and there's much depth in Ceremony, so if you're a one note scented soap sort of guy then you might want to pass.

Although Ceremony has an orange blossom note, I agree that the scent does not have a floral vibe. The orange blossom only serves to reinforce the orange fruit accord: blood orange, orange blossom, peach and apricot. Although tuberose is floral, it also adds a spicy note. The other notes provide depth to the fragrance: vanilla, cedarwood, and vetiver.

Ceremony is a fairly strong scented soap. Those looking for a lighter scent that blends will with various aftershaves might want to skip this one unless you purchased the matching splash. For those whose olfactory senses are partially impaired, Ceremony might be ideal.

After I lathered Ceremony, I detected a cumin-type spicy note. That surprised me as no cumin is mentioned. I checked with Mohammad who confirmed that there was no cumin in the accord. However, after doing some research, he indicated that there are some components of the accord that are also found in cumin; thus my nose detected a cumin scent. However, as people detect fragrances differently, others might not smell what I did.

I didn't get cumin at all. I definitely agree with the cedar, vanilla, and vetiver notes that ground the whole composition together. The orange blossom and orange fruits are sort of at the top and give the soap it's fruity zing. At the very bottom there is a slight spicy floral which I suspect is the tuberose but it's hard to detect. I enjoy it and it's a nice soapy scent. When Mo adds vetiver to a soap it always agrees with me.

I also have solhaven. That one is definitely a floral scent and a bit lighter than Ceremony. Both are great for warm weather.

You gents may have pushed me over the edge. Thank you! Excited to try this base out. How is it?

Pretty similar to Kairos SE. I think it's great and I suspect we'll see more of it in the future. There are fewer ingredients in the formula and its cheaper than Maxima and in my opinion works just as well. Maxima has hardly any structure at all and basically paints on whereas Kairos SE and Optimus are in between of having that super advanced slickness of Maxima and the rich and creamy classic artisan soap lather. If you lined up all Mo's bases and told me I could pick any one with any scent I'd just as well choose the least expensive option.

As I said, everyone perceives scents differently. My nose is pretty sensitive, but not to the level of a perfumer. I am not sure why I sensed the cumin, but I did each time I lathered it. Perhaps it has something to do with my water. I did not notice it off the puck.

I did not get order Solhaven due to the Lime top note. Although I love the scent of lime, many soaps with lime irritate my sensitive skin, so I avoid them out of caution. The same thing goes for Liberte'. It leads with a lemon note which often affects me like lime. I hate having sensitive skin as it causes me to miss out on some wonderful fragrances.
