Almost as radical a twist as this Merkur. (on the left in the case) [Image: qRHXI8J.jpg]

Are my eyes deceiving me from a small screen on a phone, or is the handle sort of a twist?

The handle is not twisted. A standard early Gillette clone that Merkur used back then. The wear on the paint gives it the 'twisted' look, but the handle is a standard one. The head is much more radically twisted than a standard 37C.

Aaah, 10-4 on the handle. Sure does look like a good twist.

I have chatted with Gopneg and he mentioned that this razor is very early in its design phases...once it's further along, he'll see about getting us some to pass around.

I scored these a couple of years ago, and bought the set for that one on the left. Cool set. The one on the far right is probably WWII issue I'm guessing. They're all older with a slightly different roll mark on the handle than later Merkurs.

Anyway, I shaved with the one on the left one time and it scared me. KInd of skinned me up IIRC. So I shaved with it yesterday with a 3rd use Gillette Blue. MDC lather, hot water. The thing was smooth as silk. I had gotten away from Slants for a long while because of Wolfman, Blackbird, and Charcoal Goods taking over the den.

I actually forgot how to shave with them. I know this because a few weeks back I took my Wunderbar, the best slant there is AFAIC, and had a bad experience. I was using it as if it were a straight bar. Anyway, I revisited it, remembering to just hold the razor at a neutral angle and let the helix do the work. That's what I did with this one and it was an awesomely smooth/close shave. Surprised me, and yes, it is light. Not a razor I'll be putting in rotation, but just cool to have.

Jimmy, I was referring to you saying you might need to get this new slant adjustable that is made out of titanium and you said that you don't want any titanium razors now at this point. I thought you learned your lesson LOL

Living on the edge
I get a headache just looking at slants.
I imagine they would be the sort of razor M.C. Escher might shave with.

Dave, LOL ! I didn't realize it's Ti ! I still will probably want one cause it's a slant.

long video of a guy shaving slowly and still getting several cuts. I hope the final product is much more tamed.
