The more I use the Alpha Spirit, the more I like it and want to sell my other razors.

It is difficult to imagine how the Spirit can work better as a daily driver than the Hawk V3 A. I certainly don’t need anything more efficient. So what could it be?

Lighter in weight, more nimble and still as smooth and efficient to me. But you like heavier razors so you may have a better fit for you already.

If you are getting enough efficiency from your Hawk standard and you enjoy the shave, then theoretically, there is no „need“ for anything new. If the A plate was needed for added efficiency and you find it uncomfortable, then my first suggestion would be to try a different blade. They all have a very different face feel.

And then of course there is the La Faulx. It certainly meets your criteria regarding weight and does everything the Hawk does but better. Standard or even + plate should be a perfect match. I personally disliked the handle so would suggest buying just the head. Atelier Durdan has offered Black Friday discounts in the past, so we can probably expect the same this year.

For me using the A plate required a shallower angle. Once I discovered this the shaves are outstanding using a Kai Pink Mild.
