I have the Ti Vector and it is an efficient razor. With the solid bar base plate, it is more efficient than any of the three Hawk V3 plates in my experience (based on the blades I prefer). It is easier to get in tight places like under your nose. The SS Vector will be heavier than the Ti Vector and require less pressure in dense growth if the blade does not have much exposure or is not very sharp (from what I read).

I like using the Kai Captain Titan ProTouch MG blades for light growth and the Kai Captain blade for heavier growth. The Kai Captain blade is sharper than the Kai Captain Titan Mild blade. The Vector Lite base plate should tame the Kai Captain blade a little as I have read that it makes the razor milder. Feather blades are not smooth on my skin and I have tried most of the AC blades that Feather makes in most of my AC razors.

If the Remus is like the Romulus, the Vector will be more efficient and have better fit and finish. I have seen an SS Vector for sale in the BST forum. Ordering new from BlacklandRazors gives you a 30-day risk free return policy. Sign up for their newsletter and you get 10% off your first purchase.

Thanks for the info. If I choose to buy a Vector I will wait until their November sale.

This is not a political post but rather urging you to consider that the population and the vendor cannot fairly be lumped into a category based on its leadership any more than can be the US. A study conducted by Princeton found that the US government only acted in accord with the majority of its citizens about 18% of the time. I suggest the same can extrapolated of all Western governments. Using your reasoning, nobody, including US buyers, should patronize US vendors despite the widely divergent political opinions they hold.

You may be mischaracterizing the French will with Macron's manipulations. This is unfair to the French people and Durdan without knowing their perspective.

Not to belabour a point but Macron is not very popular in France and only holds the power he wields by having manipulated the electorial system. The French effectively have no government at the moment other than Macron's executive decrees in the absence of a legislature.

We need be careful in punishing vendors based on their political leaders

Just finished a shave with the Remus. It provides an excellent shave. That being said  I prefer the Hawk V3 for its weight.larger head, and heavier handle. That kind of rules out the Vector and perhaps the Spirit as well. I am now considering getting the A plate for the Hawk or an Alpha Claymore. Based on the excellent post from DanLaw I will now also reconsider the La Faulx.

The Hawk "A" is only slightly more aggressive.  Go for the Alpha Claymore Evolution, it's a step up from the Hawk.  Or the La Faulx if you can.  Those two are very close with the La Faulx just a bit better IMHO.

Your basis for disqualifying the razors cited is extremely well reasoned given your preferences - and it is exactly why I so favour the Vector Ti.

You will find the Durdan quite heavy and large in a very positive way. It is among the best machined razors ever encountered in polish finish. Be aware though that the different heads can change its character from among the mildest shavers to quite aggressive. Choose wisely

Just ordered the A plate for the Hawk. Least expensive option and I’ll see how it goes from there. Thanks to all for the valuable insights.

First use of the Hawk A plate. I find it more efficient that the Standard but a bit less comfortable. Still undecided if I want to add another SE.
