The other day, Above the Tie posted on their Facebook thread: “Hopefully, we will have another surprise reveal this year at the Big Shave West 3.”
A few hours ago, in a response to an inquiry, they further elaborated: “We have been working on a ‘Gem’ Razor design. A three piece razor that used (sic) ‘Gem’ blades. I hope to roll it out at the ‘Big Shave West 3’ in Pasadena in April.”
Perhaps some of you already knew this. I did not want to ruin their Big Shave West 3 surprise, but since the content of the surprise was now mentioned on Facebook, I thought I’d share the information. I know there are at least a few members here on DFS who have long awaited a modern razor that utilizes the Gem blades. Looks like Above the Tie and Barbaros Razors are both getting close to responding to such wishes.

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”
