I have been shaving my head with a DE every evening for the past 8 years and I get great and close shaves.
As razorock mentioned, the Mamba is a very good shaver as it is quite mild, but I have found a sweet combination of a Frankenrazor to work beautifully and effectively.
The benefits are that you will look better with a fully shaven head and your skin will improve dramatically. I get compliments on mine, all of the time.
Make sure you use a good balm after the shave to keep the skin well hydrated.
Good luck.

I prefer carts for shaving my head, personally. I've tried a DE (I think it was a razorock baby smooth) and a schick injector and it just took too much concentration on angles and such that a cart doesn't need.

my favorite is still a gillette mach 3. I have a few new cart blades to try in my headblade sport and I have a feather mr3 to try too.

I've been head shaving for almost a decade. Get yourself a fog-free shower mirror. Get yourself a Plissoft brush, good soap and a RazoRock Mamba. You will thank me later. After 15-20 Mamba head shaves you will never pick up another cart razor again!

So I've been wondering....do you do multiple passes, WTG/ATG/XTG?  or just one and touch ups?  Is nicking and cutting a problem?

I do one pass and touch ups, always in the shower.

I have probably shaved my head with the Mamba 300-400 times, I have never even nicked myself once. I have cut off a pimple but that will happen with a cart too. It takes me about 5 minutes start to finish.
I took out the Mamba this morning...takes more attention than some to get the most effective angle but a nice head shave indeed.[Image: cdbdeed06bc838f2627c320a1fcc2ac1.jpg]

Sounds good, thanks - Does it make a difference if its New Mamba or Black Mamba?

My black one has been in storage for a few years so I use the New Mamba, probably doesn't make a whole bunch of difference but I'm now use to the weight and feel of the new mamba.

Once you use it all the time, takes no attention at all. When I travel I don't bring a mirror and it's just as use, my hand knows the angle and sort of sets on autopilot now.

Ay but using one razor all the time would be sacrilege round these parts :-). I'll be spending more time with it, thanks.

well, when I use a shaving soap, I don't use a brush - I rub a puck of haslinger on my head for probably about 30-45 seconds and then work up a lather with my hands. I actually got this tip from razorock.

For the face, I wouldn't, for my head I only use the Mamba because most of the time I'm not looking and in the shower, do I need it to be intuitive.

Yup, I do this all the time with What the Puck and with sticks.

Sometime even with croaps if I'm in a rush, I will scoop a quarter sized amount with my finger, rub it in the top of my head and jump into the shower. Then lather with a brush.
