It doesn't but combined incredible number of site pictures with no financial incentive and methodical reviews. Again:

dfoulk has been hosting the largest ongoing soap passaround aware of for the past 2 years for one, with soaps from every major and about every minor producer included. So having literally hundreds of experiences with the various soaps and not being paid to opine, nor compensated on sales nor having a YouTube/blog franchise would make him a top unbiased expert in my opinion. Do you know others?

I can't imagine but very very few have tried as many soaps and he has absolutely no skin of any kind in the game whether it be payola nor revenue flows from monetizing reviews online.

I have read many of dfoulk's reviews on another forum and his opinions are interesting & well written. However, he & I part ways on PannaCrema. Unless he has changed his opinion as of late I recall he did not rate B&M that high which was for me another point of contention. Perhaps he changed his mind with the Reserve line(?). I did however agree wholeheartedly with him regarding Sudsy Soapery being the big "sleeper".

So in essence, what he agrees with me on he is absolutely correct. For that which he disagrees with me on he is unequivocally wrong. Got it? (Sarcasm  Big Grin  Wink  ).

Everyone must find their own reviewer who they trust. For myself that is that handsome & genteel Ruds. I concur with him almost always. His review of the SS Uplift being the only big exception.
Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

I go with the handsome & genteel guy in the mirror.

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the cleanest shaven of them all?

Well, okay.  It only works when the lights are off, on a dark night.  Winking

I agree with shevek. I've tried most of the artisan soaps and many are great today. So, I go for scents.

I've tried a lot of, "Top tier," soaps also (or at least many people feel they are) and the differences are so small to me that no soap is light years ahead of all of the others. That's why I buy samples/trade small amounts with others first. Especially at the price points people here are referring to.

Grooming Dept, more than any other soap used to date, has cumulative skin enhancing benefits that won’t become apparent for two weeks plus of continuous usage

Not in my world. I used After The Fire for my 30 day SOTM group. Figured with what I read about the skin benefits it would be the ideal candidate. My face feels no better and no worse from when I started. It sure didn't make better looking which really bummed me out!

Well nothing could help my looks (and I curse Mo for the fact his soaps didn’t help there), ha!

FWIW, an even better way to improve your skin is using this. It works far better than any soap. Wink
