Most are medium/strong to me with the exception of Man from Mayfair and i think it was called Dark Vetiver. To me, these had zero scent or almost zero scent. Maybe it was a bad batch or the scent diminished in the sample container. Back to the topic at hand .......GD soaps.

And my nose thought that Man From Mayfair was quite string with very pronounced basil notes. Go figure...

That is the only WK soap I own and thought the scent was quite strong also.

I've tried Ambra and Angel so far and the scents were just terrible to me. They had no resemblance to the scent list at all. Didn't really like the base either but I also didn't give them more than 2 or 3 test runs.
I'm hoping to try a couple of the Tallow versions, due to the rave reviews on their performance....especially the post shave; which is the main focus of my shaves.

Looking to try 'Wonderland' and 'Tao'.

With the cost of shipping and the smaller community, samples are hard to get up here in Canada, but the good thing is, GD has a strong reputation within the community, so selling them for what they were purchased for or very close to it, is a bit easier to do.

Not sure if West Coast is a good distributor for CAD orders but Tao and Wonderland been in stock all day on the WCS site. Actually amazed that more of the soaps aren't sold out by now. Mo must have given them allot of tubs.

Yep, it was actually the WCS e-newsletter that instigated the thought of those soaps. I managed to grab one of each right away.
I also grabbed another item which ended up putting me over $100, which, to my surprise, qualifies for free shipping to Canada. Which is great.
Their flat rate cost of $9.95 also isn't too bad.

The big plus though, is that they ship splashes.
All this time I've been using a cross border service....and paying out the rear end when I didn't have to. Lol

Glad it worked out for you. Enjoy.

So I got my hands on a new tallow GD soap:  Naranja de Sangre. The scent is very different, a mixture of orange & leather which although struck me as an odd combo actually plays out not too badly.  Cool  On to the performance. This soap reminded me a lot of Talbot in ease of lathering for some reason. I had a fine shave and used a new Silver Blue DE blade. Personally, I think that Lisa's Artisan is slicker as are Icarus , A&E & B&M Reserve/Excelsior soaps. After shave "face feel" for me is not high on my need list as I wash with a cleanser in the shower after shaving so I am not the person to ask for a totally objective opinion on that facet.

It's a fine shave soap, make no mistake. Unfortunately, the market has many more as such that offer me a little more slickness/glide as well as in scents that I mostly love. Also, they are readily available with no purchasing "droughts". To be fair, I encourage those of you whom desire to purchase one and decide for yourself as these matters are highly subjective as we all know. I don't know how much more fair I could be in my opinion which is worth just as much as you were charged to read it.

Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

Timely post. I actually used my B&M Seville in Reserve today after a few days of Islands and Before The Fire. Wanted to compare them. While I love the Seville scent and I really like the Reserve base I was a bit let down by it vs. the new GDs..just not as comfortable a shave overall. And..Icarus didn’t work as well for me as either of these. Definitely a YMMV...
