I took Friday off from work and decided to go on a walk. I set out from the trailhead at about 8:45 am and hiked for about 6 h and covered 16+ miles in that time. The day was perfect for hiking and the views were not too bad.

This is taken from where I stopped for lunch:

It was a nice way to spend the day.

Hey Celestino,

Yes we do! I've been meaning to get over to your side of the border and do some hiking there, but still have to make the time. We have it all - the sea, the plains and the woods and mountains. Even desert, if you're willing to drive a little farther.

Haha, understatement of the year. There's nothing even close to that where I live. Beautiful pictures man!

Just let me know, Yohann, as it would be wonderful to finally meet you, in person. Smile

Spectacular as always, Yohann.

Having never been west I have a flatlander question. Is that snow left over from last year or new snow from this year?

Thanks.

I certainly will. I'll probably make it up there soon.

That's from last year. Some of what you're seeing are the Mt. Baker glaciers. That area gets some of the highest amounts of snowfall in the world. During the winter the parking lot at the trailhead is usually covered with 30-40 feet of snow. All these valleys are snowbound for much of the year.
