We have an arborist down here from Ohio, Aaron Capanelli (770TREEGUY).

Met him contracting for tech tree removal when HOA President.

Solid dude, great midwestern morals and only hires the best employees providing world class best equipment. Running all over town, encounter all the various service crews. None are better organized, more polite and more professional than Aaron's people. Tree service can be a great and fun business when the right people get together.

Very cool ! The more I see professionals climbing and dismantling a tree, the more I want to attempt it myself before my health prevents it.

These folk climb trees as though competing in X games. Safety equipment top notch and quite expensive.

I don't need everything they have at their disposal. @ $2000 should get all I need, cost of equipment more than recouped by me removing the 2 trees I need it for......if I survive Happy

Undertaken jobs where it essentially paid for the equipment needed to fill gaps for future expansion

It’s a young man’s game. High stakes high risk. Back when I was working in the patch we would hire slashers for road building and lease clearing. The slashers would hand cut the staked out perimeters and then the heavy equipment would come in and clear out the rest. Slashers were all supposed to have their Fellers certification so they all theoretically knew what they were doing but the urge to cut corners and save time is so powerful and they’re out there alone in the forest so who is going to know. Working on the safety side, or more specifically, fatal accident investigations, I eventually would know. A falling tree can really mess up a human body.

This kind of purchase is itself out of the ordinary kinds of purchases we normally make. So, mrdoug, even though you didn't ask my opinion, I'll give it to you! Purchasing brushes, soaps, razors etc for the den is what we are trying to curb, but a purchase to make a trip/vacation lighter and more enjoyable, I think that is fine in my book!
What do you mean no rules?! Of course there’s rules. You buy, you’re out. I would expect a little more effort here. If you need something for a vacation and you didn’t think of it before the end of 2022 then too bad. There nothing stopping your wife or a friend from buying stuff they might want to share, however. Or you could hang around outside Pasteur’s and try to get people going in to buy stuff for you.
